We lost yesterday because of 4 basic defending errors and a number managerial errors. Austin failed to get a block on the Wednesday player which let him get a shot in. Colgan lets the ball pass under him. If he had just stood up he may have saved it with his legs. But I think he was unsighted by Austin and saw the ball late. Williams failed to deal with a simple through ball which was ball 100% his. Simple lack of ability. He is completely out of his depth at any level above League two. He should have been taken off at half time. Kay who I think has improved his game this season was simply "too up" for the game. He was "out of control " from the first physical contact he had with a Wednesday player when he turned and started mouthing off at him. This continued all the game when he seemed more interested in showing how hard he is that playing the game. I was surprised he didn't get himself sent off in the second half when he pushed the Wednesday player to the ground. I thought this lad had sorted that part of his game out. I have been impressed with Simon Davey so far. I think he has done well with the weak squad he inherited from Ritchie. But playing Williams in midfield who was a spectator for 87 minutes? It was clear in the 1st half that he wasn't in the game. I was baffled by his substitutions, as I think we all were. Wednesday were a poor side they didn't beat us we beat ourselves.
Agree 100%, with the addition of , Kay for me has never been able to weight a pass correctly with any regularity, any pressure and its ale house hoof it, trouble is it usually ends up with the oposition keeper and hence comes flying back.
if deon burton had managed to get kay sent off for that then it would have been one of the worse refereeing decisions i have seen at the well - and there's been quite a few to choose from..
Why ? play had moved on, and Kay brought his arm round and clattered him in the back, if roles were reversed do you think any of our players would have stayed on their feet No way He was lucky to stay on , but that was a good refereeing decision with the match as it was.
The referee wasn't even looking! How can you book someone for something that the referee and linesman haven't even seen?
Agreed, I was in line with both ref and linesman and both were looking away. The card was merely a guess.
No, i didn't say it did, just stating that the ref's decision should not be a guess, regardless of whether it is in our favour or not.
