We must all get behind the Club now and support the Manager and Players

I love this Club to my bones.

I was disappointed last week with all that happened but I know in my heart of hearts that both Patrick Cryne and Gordon Shepherd love the Club as much as we all do.

They have to make the decisions that they think are correct, despite the unpopularity of those decisions.

Simon Davey has all the attributes to do well in the Game. Adi Boothroyd did it, Colin Calderwood is doing it and so are a host of others. I personally know someone who works in the Academy and he has nothing but the highest of praise for Simon Davey and the way that he goes about his job.

It's time we had a Manager with some tactical nous.

There are positives in this appointment, despite the fact that he is young, inexperienced and we are in a relegation dogfight.

The views of the majority of Barnsley FC fans are not expressed on here and it seems as if everything on here is doom and gloom.

I shall be going to the 'Supporter's Trust' meeting on Tuesday and from now on I am 100% behind the Club.

The decisions have been made in the best interests of the Club that we love.

They know what they are doing better than any of us on here.

New signings to come in hopefully this week, which will lift both the players and the fans and the Club in general and then we can be back to 'Battling Barnsley' and move out of the bottom three.

It will be hard but we can do it.

If what I have heard is true, then the players are right behind Davey and they certainly showed desire and character yesterday at Roots Hall and were rewarded with a draw.

I shall be at Oakwell a week on Tuesday to support them all the way.

We are going to win some and lose some but we need to get behind them now all the way and that includes Mr Cryne and Mr Shepherd who are making the decisions on behalf of us all and in the best interests of the club

    GET BEHIND 'EM

    YOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooReds!

    Spot on, but...

All I ask is for a bit of honesty from the club. Most of the recent problems can be traced to messages from the club that turned out to be untrue or at least a bit misleading.

Like you I love the club and yes you're right it is time to get behind them whoever is in charge.

But get the P.R. side sorted - either tell the truth or say nothing.

    RE: Spot on, but...

    It is true.

The PR does need to be sorted and I wish with all my heart that they could review this problem and maybe appoint someone who has charisma, skill and charm and who could win the fans back.

It hurts when you love the Club so much and follow them through thick and thin and yet feel so unappreciated as a fan.

I hope they can get it sorted sooner, rather than later.

    Once again, spot on

It will never happen until those at the top realise just how important the fans are. John Dennis knew that but I'm not sure about the current management.

    Well said , teacher

What's done is done . Dwelling on pathetic performances will help no one . The players will get my full backing at every match I attend . However , if I think I'm being short changed , I'll get it off my chest here on the BBS , but not during the game . Another two or three permanent signings this month would be a move in the right direction , especially if the players are immediately recognised by everyone as being superior to the ones currently in the first team .

    It would help if:

The major parties concerned, viz. Patrick Cryne, Gordon Shepherd and our new Manager but their brain into gear before they opened their mouths. The fans I have spoken to are crtical of the club because of statements such as -

"Players to put bums on seats."
    "Andy Ritchie is going nowhere"
    "Experienced Manager"
and watching Lee Williamson for the past five weeks... (a guy whose injured)!!!!

Who is ccoacjing these three - Tony Blair??

Lets have the truth or nothing please.

Like you, I never boo at the games, I cannot see how it serves any purpose whatsoever.

The players need us now and we are all in this together. We simply have to be the 12th man for them from now on.

    Come on You Reds!

    Yes , that's true

The players have to be brave from here on in . Never shirk a challenge , always make themselves available for a pass to help out a team mate , never be afraid to shoot and miss ( you can't win a raffle if you don't buy a ticket ) , always be prepared to accept responsibility .
The fans need to offer encouragement to the players at all times during the game , even when things aren't going well .
We MUST be "Battling Barnsley" for every game between now and May . If we are , then we'll survive .

    Agreed Kev

Watchinmg the Man U game this afternoon, it's so noticeable to see so many players working their socks off for each other. If they lose a tackle, they are straight back to reclaim the ball. They make it look so easy. Chelsea just bore me to death with their brand of football.

The players must work hard for each other

    brilliant post Tina

agree 100% with you - i am not convinced by recent goings on but if we are to stay up we all need to be in this together and get behind the team 100% - ironically just what we were doing versus Wednesday before they stuck it up us.

but anyway, lets get behind up and see what we can achieve

    Charisma, skill & charm

Is what PR had in bucketloads but most of it turned out to be empty promises. The report in the Chron at the start of the season about "Box Office Players" turned up nothing & the stated need of an experienced manager, well, I need comment no further about how that has turned out.

What I'd say is needed is not so much charisma, skill & charm but some outright & open honesty. Or is that expecting too much?

    I agree..

but it is hard sometimes. I've been supporting barnsley for nearly 30 years - 18 years of those I've lived in Liverpool. It would be easy to say sod it and not go - it would save me a lot of money( I can take the little un to Everton and still get change out of £30) but you get dragged in and you can't escape!

I do feel that these next few weeks are an important time for the club a few good signings could really lift the gloom around the place. Without them I feel we'll struggle not just this season but for the next few years as well.
