I think he was outstanding today, would be a real shame to lose him to another club. Some great touches and some great passing. 100% effort and thats what we need in the team.

Devaney is one of our best players but

I think he will miss out as El Hamour and Rice will be picked as wide men. Hope I'm wrong though, as neither can cross a ball as good as Devaney. Rice is tops though as well for me. Devaney and Rice best players today by far.

It may be just a case of saying the right words etc, but he told me at Open Day that he really doesn't want to leave. I think he's actually improved since last season already. He's started to put himself about and shows reall passion when things go wrong.

He always plays his way back into first 11 top player, he should not be sold.

Devaney was absolutely first class today.
Excellent.
Will be gutted if Davey is daft enough to think we can do without him.

Agree,
He opened our school fair.
He's very happy and settled with us and doesn't want to move on.
He played today to show that.

Yes big loss if he does go and he has been with us for a while one of the longer serving players, i was watching him in the gym a few weeks back with howard and he was breaking his back, howard looked more bothered about chatting to people and getting noticed to be fair.

Devaney

blows hot and cold. On his day he is one of the best wide men in this division and has scored some fantastic goals. However he's often anonymous and maybe that has been to do with lack of competition. Ithink that if/when Da Silva returns to the central midfield then he, JCR and Al H will need to impress every chance they get.

Well today, he knew he had to perform and he did do so and was at his best.
I don't know if you went today, but if you did , you would know what I mean.
Fears that he may be sold as surplus to requirements and increased competition for places or whatever can only, hopefully, increase his motivation and desire to do well.
No footballer wants to uproot his famiy and children if they are settled and doing well.
He was very, very good today.

Problem with Devaney

He slipped from being one of the top 5 midfielders in the Championship to being next to useless.

He lost form badly last season and didn't warrant a place in the team.

He did have the odd good game.

I don't know what his problem was but he seem to lose consistency.

I hope he can get back to being the player we know he can be.

Maybe that's why Davey was looking to offload him and Devaney knew he was on borrowed time!

I can see Davey pouring over the Stats and Form Books, can't you?

good a little bit of pressure is good for a player and a team

Bit harsh, next to useless

Name me a player who didn't have an off day or two. If you can do that then they would be off to a bigger club and if a few of the players were never next to useless during any of the season we wouldn't have been fighting relegation.

Many BFC fans often pick on the most skillful players because they dont perform week in week out. Thing is if they could perform week in week out they wouldn't be long for oakwell. Never seem to pick on the mediocre players who hide week in week out.

I wouldn't be surprised if then Club did use Prozone.

You didn't need that or the Actim to know he wasn't the player he use to be last season.

I said on here that he was running at defenders at pace and losing the ball. Where he use to attacking them with pace, and then put the brakes on, almost to walking pace, and then he would accelerate past them and get crosses in.

Only my observation mind.

Devaney was probably the best player on the pitch today.
He worked his socks off.
