keef is trying his best to move things forward but obviuosly lack of money is preventing him from doing that. Today against Forest was..... horrible !!! Only bright sparks on the field was Done, Davis and especially Digby, who has Premeirship footballer spamped all over him Other than that it was a shocker. We have been treading water now for years under Pat Cryne and getting nowhere........the fans are drifting away. OK, PC has done a great job but the sooner we get other owners into the club the better (thats if there is someone out there to take over).
Hi Nudge, good to meet you. How about clubs making £12-20m losses eventually having to put their financial house in order ? Unfortunately I'm not sure we have enough time to 'tough it out'
PC has worked wonders and I for one would like to see him stay involved. The ideal scenario would be for a number of new investors/directors to join him. Hopefully there will be a new generation of wealthy Barnsley fans desperate to get involved. I have thought for a long time that our board is not big enough. Strength in numbers...
Glyn in all honesty the vile abuse as you put it..is quite mild at Barnsley when you take a look at some of the other teams around the country..and you need not go too far out from Yorkshire either. Sheffield, Leeds,Hull,in the recent past come to mind. Then we can even go to places like Newcastle, Spurs,Arsenal..merseyside..and all again not long ago, in the fans protesting history.I recall the coach home from Anfield (with JLWBL) after our wonderful FA cup win ..their version of Praise or Grumble made the Radio DeeDah one sound like 'Womans hour'. When a punter pays money the punter expects some sort of satisfaction...right now its not happening at Oakwell and improvement levels are questionable too. Personally I am rapidly losing interest in football across the board, and indeed sport in general, Its rotten to the core .The small fry like us will all eventually be sacrificed to the Great God 'SKY' just like the good ole YOO ESS of AY with its world series and other circus styled so called sporting extravaganza. Sadly thats the way its all going...I think I will join /TheReev/ in a good old game of KERPLUNK
It's not just down to the owner Nudger, we need our stay away fans to come back and help us progress. They want us to progress but they're not helping us to achieve it.
Yes but will stay away fans come to watch 4-5-1 formations and also witness those players brought in to replace those who have departed (for one reason or another) whilst still expected to pay the same or more at the gate for an unappealing product?
Yes because that's what fans do, they stick with the club through thick and thin. I'm not having a go at those who don't come for reasons such as financial limitations, far from it, I just wish that we could get some of the fans who turn up against the big clubs to come on a more regular basis. Every little helps an all that.
What makes you think that the next owner of the club will be in a better position to assist us financially than Patrick Cryne? We are what we are.
4-5-1 is not unappealing. It was fine when our midfield 5 consisted of Drinkwater, Perkins, Butterfield, Vaz Te and O'Brien. Everyone was crowing enthusiastically about the quality of the entertainment. Not only are those 5 not in the team, the 5 who have replaced them are for one reason or another struggling to match their quality, inventiveness and particularly their fitness. Can you really tell me any team that has performed as well when it has suddenly lost it first choice midfield.
I'd rather we were self sufficient and not reliant on any wealthy benefactor to be honest, certainly in terms of wage bill
