Which costs money. Of which we have very little.

It'll be someone out of work and with a couple of failures on his CV to mind everyone up on here.

Not in the same league as what relegation would cost.

There are very few managers in English football, that don't have at least one failure behind them

I don't want someone with experience

If they've got experience and they're interested in us then it'll be experience of failure.

I want someone no one has ever heard of, so he's got no baggage. There's another Mourinho out there somewhere and all he's doing is waiting for a chance. He's currently managing a semi-professional outfit in Sweden or somewhere and he's a football genius. His job application will wow Don and Barry and he'll nail the interview. Then he'll set about transforming the club both on and off the pitch and this time next year we'll be heading the division. He's loyal too and soon grows to love Barnsley.

    Well, I can dream.

What we need is a manager to
1 galvanise and organise the team and..
2 galvanise and get the fans excited and back on board.

What's needed especially in respect of 2, is somebody with a past connection to the club and who was held in high esteem in the town and no I don't have anybody in mind at the mo.

    Whoever is finally selected

It's highly unlikely he'll be met with universal approval. There'll be someone, somewhere, who doesn't like the new guy. Personally speaking, I believe we'll go for someone experienced at this level and currently out of work, in order to save money with compensation & time with the appointment. I'd be surprised if David Flitcroft takes over on a part time basis. I think it's much more likely to be Ronnie Branson and Mark Burton.

Disagree. We don't have any debt to service so if we do go down you adjust your budgets and get on with it.

    Donny seem to be surviving...

Actually I bet applications are already coming in from well known figures in the game.

Admittedly it seems that we would be in a far better position than many clubs to absorb the impact of relegation, simply because we appear to be operating on a League 1 budget already. However, if crowds were to sink to the 5k mark and below (not inconceivable if we went down and then struggled, due to the current economic climate) then this would surely have a pretty serious effect. Plus the reduced TV revenue etc.
