And as much as Bradshaw puts himself about - he isn't a target man. Long ball up field is only successful if there's someone there to hold the ball up. The long ball up field just kept bouncing back. I can sum the Forest game up in one word ......... FRUSTRATING. I would imagine that's what Hecky is feeling this morning. Barnsley should have won that game in the first 22 minutes - by then they should have been 4-0 up. In the end Barnsley were hanging on when the game should have been dead and buried. We need more strikers !!! Absolutely incredible football by Barnsley especially the first half - the speed of it was like watching a 5 a side game. Bit to say about the players: The centre backs played better especially Jackson. Williams has got to learn when to tackle - if he loses the tackle the opponents are usually in on goal - there needs to be better cover here. I was wrong about Hammill - thought he would be a bit player this season - but wow what a performance that was.
I know what you mean. Thousands of Barnsley fans must have felt the same coming out of Oakwell last night after seeing us beat Forest. I bet there was a lot abused cats in South Yorkshire after out first home league win in nearly 7 months. Don't you ever feel the need to stop being a dick?
Some really constructive comments from the usual suspects. The nowt to say gang - the nowt between the ears bunch - but let's slag anyone else off who has something to say, because we can't think of owt.
Oh sorry, I genuinley did'nt know you were being serious. Now go and get your bumps checked for god sake man!
Hammill said himself he got a grip and is fitter than he's been in years. I still think he should be captain but many disagree as he won't start many games apparently.
Shock horror - a proper response. Hammill looked dreadful at Rotherham although he played well against Ipswich. But against Forest he were like someone possessed. Incredible- he can't be left out now.
I disagree because I think he should concentrate on his game. We've seen what happens when he tries too hard, so let him play his natural game instead of adding more pressure with the captaincy.
You have said one correct thing there, that although Bradshaw is very good in the air hes NOT the proverbial target man and long balls up to him aren't the right way. But despite what sounded like an awful first half at Bristol, Bradshaw has really been stepping up in these last few games and we're seeing better from him. I could go on at length again about not liking 1 up front but as we've signed so many midfielders, then we have to play to our strengths especially away from home. Those first halves in all 3 home games should have won us each game convincingly, we're a bit of a 45 minute team at the moment but that will surely get better.
Make him club captain then. He said himself he wants to be someone for the younger players to look up to and wants to help them grow on and off the pitch.
