RE: Do I detect a trace of sarcasm ES? You must have got the sarcasm filter working on here! Well done to site admin for that! ff
Or first time in the game one of our strikers has got into a good position Depends how you look at it. If you want Nardiello to be bagging those chances you've got to give him a hell of a lot more first team experience than he's getting, rather than just bringing him on when you're in a hole and hoping he'll get you out of it.
Alternatively... ...if he's the 'natural goalscorer' everyone says he is... Is it just me who really doesn't give a toss about the result today? Maybe 'cos I expected it.
Everyone misses chances Crespo, Owen and certainly Nardiello. But they all bag a much higher percentage when they're match fit and playing regularly.
When was the last time Nads was fit? I bet he nearly choked on his mother's umbilical cord. Decent enough player when he's fit, but he's so rarely fit it's barely worth the effort.
He's been fit since Christmas when Ritchie started his striker rotation thing, but failed to include Nardiello. If Ritchie doesn't rate him, that's fine, but that makes me wonder why he signed him. And I just don't think it fair on a player to be completely overlooked and only brought on when the team is in a real mess. Nardiello has definitely got his faults, just like the rest of our strikers, but he's also got some plus points too. I think it's great shame we haven't utilised them.
I know we've had this one before. I think he was a signing to secure ticket sales, and was not Ritchies choice. We know he can score, but he's too injury prone to secure a long run in the side. I wouldn't build him into my side 'cos, given his record, you'll just be starting to rely on his goals when he'll be out for a few months. Again.
