I actually thought we played pretty well today, but once again, failed to take any of the chances that we created. Muller was at fault for the first goal, for it was his awful kick out that resulted in the Swansea free kick and then the defending/goalkeeping for the actual cross, was once again, woeful. From that, I thought we played some good football and had enough chances to not only draw level, but go at least 3-1 up! Lo and behold, we gradually get pushed back, allowing Swansea time and space on the ball, and it's 0-2. School boy stuff. After half time, we continued to play some good stuff and but for poor finishing and good goalkeeping, we could've been 5-2 up! Then, the hammer blow! What the hell were Foster and Muller doing? In that position, you do one of two things: A) Keeper comes out and takes defender/striker AND more importantly BALL! B) Defender hammers it into row Z. We did neither, and Muller decided to drop the ball straight to Scotland, who had the easiest of tap ins. Overall, I thought we played pretty well - far better than we did against Forest and other teams this season. The inability of us to take our chances when on top, is a big, big worry. We shouldn't have lost today - it wasn't a 1-3 game. Horrible, stupid mistakes combined with bad finishing has cost us yet again. League One next season is now a very, very distinct possibilty. And what the hell happened with JCR? Never saw him again after half time; or Andranik...Gone in the summer? I think so...
So you agree that the managers poor squad selection cost us today then? ie playing the out of form Muller instead of the forgotton hero of last season Luke Steele
For me mate, Steele should've never been dropped. He did nothing wrong, and actually got the man of the match in his last match against Derby at home. However, Muller (as too have others) have been far too inconsistent this season, and after today's performance, Steele has to brought back into the team. Again, I can't blame Davey entirely - we played Ok today, but like I said, if you can't put an header into the net from 4 yards out with no one in touching distance (and this is almost on a weekly basis) then you're in trouble. I don't know if sacking Davey is the way forward - at the minute, I can't see what a fresh change in management can bring to a team that can't do the basics correctly on a consistent basis. We're talking about professional footballers here, with heaps of experience between them - what can a new manager bring to this squad? Fresh ideas? New tactics? Irrelevent, unless we start doing the basics consistently. All Swansea's goals today were brought about by our self.
I did,nt see the second half Because for the first time ever, I left at half time. Agree with you on the chances we created, but we just continued giving the ball away trying to walk it into the net. Also we need somebody to take the free kicks, as we wasted at least 3 in the first half. I had the impression that they had a little bit 'could'nt care less' attitude and although Hammil was working his socks off, on a few occasions he had nobody backing him up, trying to beat 3 players at the bye line when Boggy and Macken were glued to the penalty spot.
Yep, agree pal. Maybe we do need a management change; but if the players themselves can't get up for a game like this, and continue in failing to do the basics, then we're screwed anyway. Steele in for the next match.
For me, the team selection wasn't too bad. Although I thought that if there was a time to drop Muller, it would have been now. When I saw who was playing, I thought we were definitely going with 4-4-2. Then we see JCR in his free role, something that never works, and everything is to pot. At times we had JCR and Hammill right on top of each other, when really they should have been on opposite wings. The second half was much better but when you've got passengers like Macken etc, it's always going to be a struggle to get back into a game. Thought the performance wasn't too bad and it wasn't a case of Swansea ripping us apart. We put plenty of crosses into the box, made their keeper work, but just had absolutely no cutting edge. Worrying times.
Poet.... I really agree with you today mate. Today is the first time that I think we should now bring Steele back in. Muller is costing us of late far too much.
But like u say, I think we played decent today and certainly weren't 1-3 worse off. Individual errors cost us, not Davey. Although the way he finally buckled today into going 442 in second half not only relieved me, but also makes me think he has lost the plot totally. I only think he changed due to fan power.
We're in trouble.

At times we had Hammil, JCR AND Bogdanovic on the same wing At other times we had Boggy upfront on his own with Macken playing on the other wing. This was at 2-0 down, we were playing 4-5-1 at home in a must win game
Good to meet you today, Andy mate Chatting to you & jedi one was the only enjoyable thing for me this afternoon.
Davey said we must match Swansea cos they play 4-5-1 Its about time we made teams change to match us. we have spent to long this season trying to negate the opposition, they should be trying to stop us. Especially at home.
RE: Good to meet you today, Andy mate yes kev, enjoyed the chat and nice to meet you. not looking good now is it ?
RE: Poet.... Yeah muller has been poor off a late, stele never did anything wrong to be dropped. Got to give him a go now, muller needs to stay on his bleeding line.
Kev we are not going down You know that I have a real dislike of Davey , but we will stay up, we still have the games to play and the players we have are good enough. Its time for the Senior pros to stand upand sort it out between them. I really believe we will stay up , but even if we go down Davey will still be here.
I've been messing about with the predictor...
...and I think it could go to the last day, depending on other results but with Plymouth already safe.
Whatever happens I've watched my last Simon Davey game.

I think the world of you Mark, you know that But tonight I feel in the pit of despair and just can't agree with you. Sorry.
