    How do we miss him?

We're playing very well as a team, we have a midfield that will tackle, and run, and put some effort it.

McPhail is more than welcome to be used as a back-up when any of the current midfield get injured.

But, this is a physical league, not for ponces like McPhail with his fancy foot-work, dancing around for 90minutes.

Maybe, if he showed the kind of grit he did towards the end of last season, when he finally started putting his foot in, he'd warrant a place. But at the moment he doesn't even deserve to be on the bench.

How you can sit there and say, despite being on a good run, that we miss him, is beyond me!

Ive just said exactely same thing to him about half an hour ago, we dunt miss him at all, were going on our best rum for ages, and he isnt even in the team. We have more important players than him. EG Reid, Burns

i agree with what your saying

but, as alwayz red says he is a championship player, league 2 is a scrappy league and is not suited for him, mcphail if he did but more effort in he would be brilliant. When he has got the ball we are brilliant, thats why we need to give him the ball more often.

Yes he is a quality player

But we need players willing to get stuck in, like Kay & Burns to get us out of this league

    he has his moments

But how can we justify having a player on the pitch who don't do anything at all, apart from maybe play a good ball now and again?

We might aswell just play with 10 men than have Stephen prancer McPhail on the pitch.

I think he is a class player, but I'd prefer him to be a class player who can tackle, and mix it with the other midfielders. Jacob Burns spends most of his time carrying McPhail, look at the difference in Burns now there is no McPhail, he's loving it.

    i agree but..

i cant possibly think having him on bench

    Perfect solution

Drop him all together or sell him.

    Problem solved.

Then look at buying a tough tackling midfielder, a left winger, or a centre back.

    Why not?

If he's not pulling his weight, why play him?

    lol..

mcphail seems to just be wasting his career away, when he could be much more respected if he actually ran about and got stuck in more often, were missing something big here

    McPhail's contract?

im not sure any help, is there a clause or something in it so he goes for free, im not sure

So, you admit he's not pulling his weight...

but still think he should play?

It's like a reversal of the Eriksson/Beckham situation. The fans don't think he's pulling his weight, so should be dropped, but manager won't drop him.

And now it's the fan(s) wanting him to play despite not pulling his weight, and the manager won't play him.

If McPhail walks straight back into this team when he returns from injury, then that would be an absolutely shocking, and gutless decision by Andy Ritchie.

    I have no idea

I'm sure it was something like if we didn't win promotion last season he was free to go.

Andy Ritchie will bring him straight back in

because he knows he has quality. Yes i do agree McPhail doesnt pull is weight he doesn't at all, but his talent(worship) in the technical area

    I don't know if you've noticed...

This is like a pub league, it's not about fancy footwork, who can do the most tricks, and who can "wow" the crowds.

It's scrappy, tough tackling, lower league football.

Unless McPhail can learn how to tackle, and pull his weight, he's more than welcome to sit in the reserves until he finds himself another club willing to carry him.

This is ghis last year of a 2 year deal. Unless we go up and he gets a new contract, he'l be leaving at end of season.
