Ne' mind all this "We'd have settled for a point" rubbish, we were the better side and deserved to win. Even if we'd had a proper strikeforce and put away the chances we should have it was clear the referee didn't want to give us anything.
Marc Richards did well to get into position for his tap in but little else. Hayes was anonymous.
Get a couple of loan strikers in and we can finish top half.

We are top half. If we continue as we are we ought to finish top half It's not like we've got the easy games out of the way with Southampton and Cardiff.
I disagree. I thought Southampton did well (although they were helped by the ref) & tbh deserved something from the game. Having said that, I was disappointed that their penalty was given. I don't think it would have been, but for us having had one awarded minutes earlier. Wouldn't hurt to get another striker, but Hayes & Richards are doing a good job for us at the moment.
Hayes was shocking today Largely anonymous.
His failure to square the ball to the on rushing Howard / McIndoe in the first five minutes was reprehensible.
Hassell was also very poor today, its a good job Reid (My MOTM) was on his game.
Good point though.

So we draw a game 2-2.. where Hayes sets up a goal with a great cross, heads a great ball down for McIndoe who should have scored, and scores a penalty, and hes played crap? Aye, lets get someone who huffs and puffs for 90 minutes and finishes with no goals and no assists instead.
Hayes - 1 penalty, 1 converted chance out of how many? And any striker worth his salt would have put away twice as many as Richards so far, we're all over the opposition every week. And have you seen his goal against Hull? he knew nothing about it.
In the opening weekend we had more shots on goal than any other side in the division and put one away. If we get in a couple of strikers whose abilities match our midfield's who knows what we can achieve?

RE: So we draw a game 2-2.. There were people on here talking about us losing three nil today. BBC backed Southampton for a three nil win. We led twice, they had to come back twice, and our strikers did the business again, despite the detractors who seem to want replacements regardless of whether they are scoring or not. FFS. Get behind them. Last year Wednesday stayed up by the skin of their teeth. WE'RE EIGHTH. It's f'cking good news alround. Well done lads. You're doing us proud.
Oh I agree. Why didn't we sign Shevchenko when we had the chance? Richards is the joint top goalscorer in the Championship and our strikers have 5 goals and 2 assists between them. Yep, an absolute disaster. A draw was a fair result today, Southampton were much the better side in the 2nd half and the penalty was the only time we looked like scoring.
RE: Hayes - 1 penalty, 1 converted chance out of how many? Lets bring back Dave Regis. FFS get a grip.
While on that point.. Hayes has probably had...4, maybe 5 good chances this season, and some speculative half-chances.
They did indeed, apart from the strikers. The only chance Richards managed not to fluff was a tap-in and Hayes might as well have stayed at home.

RE: Hayes - 1 penalty, 1 converted chance out of how many? Name me a striker who always scores or even nearly always scores? Most teams have way more chances than they score. I think the one exception I remember was Man u league game where they scored virtually every chance against us. I think you're being way too harsh, enjoy the fact we're up there with the big boys of the division & competing well.
