.... (I know we still may do but assuming we don't) .... even though we have been pretty dire for most of it. The frustrating thing is there have been some very poor sides in the Championship and we could and should have got above at least 3 of them. Millwall, Yeovil, Charlton, Blackpool, Birmingham, Donny, Sheffield Weds, Leeds, Huddersfield .... that's 9 just off the top of my head. It says it all that we have only won 5/22 at home and 7/8 out of 23 (which is a bit crap anyway) would have kept us up. For me, that shoots down the argument that we are punching above our weight in this league. Almost half of it is average at best
I was thinking that today we have lost two on bounce and we still got a chance of stopping up when flicker was working his magic last season we seemed to win and all other teams in mixer won aswell.
When you are relegated it's because you deserve to be. Those teams may be of a similar level to us but they have been more effective as they have more points, some of them have a lot more.
The fact that we have been utter tripe all season yet we can still stay up underlines this point. A missed opportunity of gargantuan proportions.
It's been the worst league I can remember at this level since we've been back. And despite spending more than in the last 4/5 years, we still assembled a squad full of *****.
Yep, said same. As average or as poor as this season has been, we could win our last two and stay up Look at that Wednesday and Bournemouth game - 2pts. Bolton away missed peno - 1pt. Donny at home missed pen - 2pts Not taking any more games into account that's 44pts and one less of Donny. One win would do it Like you say, we could have and should have stayed up easy
correct after 46 games you are where you deserve to be but where would we be without Saturday afternoons and the super reds
It shows how poor the league is overall as we could still end up surviving with just 11 wins out of 46 games
You're right, but even most of the top teams haven't been that good. Leicester showed what spending a fortune can give you and Wigan were good home and away, but those aside I haven't been impressed with much free flowing attacking football. Even Burnley, who are getting promoted, beat us last week by being a strong defensive unit, although admittedly they were without some of their best players. Just a shame that we've been one of the worst teams in the division!
We have been poor and still got a chance to stay up too . We must have spent as much this season on wages, loans and transfers and still been poor
