We were doing pretty well a few weeks ago, before we had a few key injuries

    A lot of optimism.

    What's changed?

    Nothing.

I find this talk of sacking Danny ludicrously short sighted. We need to give a manager time to build. Danny is the man to do it and it it's going to be a rocky road, but FFS, we're 20 games in.

Personally I thought we should have given Hill time but pulled the trigger too soon. Managers need time to build and just because we've had a few bad results it doesn't mean he's doing a bad job. Ridiculous hyperbole but sadly indicative of the modern game.

Sacking Wilson is not the answer.

5 players unavailable today from starting XI v Sheff Utd

Doesn't excuse any lack of effort etc but does give a bit of perspective

Absolutely. Bad performances can sometimes come across as lack of effort.

Good players win football games. We have lost good players through injury. That's not Wilson's fault. We were never going to challenge for promotion this year, it's a transition season.

"Top six, at least". Stated and reinstated, several times, by Danny Wilson himself. I'm not saying your assessment is wrong, but it's not the expectation that Danny or Ben or Patrick had.

4 nailed on starters are missing- Ramage, Bailey, Dudgeon & Winnall.

Take four first teamers out of any side at this level & they'll struggle

I know Mansford stated it. Can't recall if Danny did but even if he did, in my view, it's unrealistic.

As a club, we've been on the downturn for years. It takes more than 20 games to turn that heavy tide. If we finish the season positively, having blooded a number of young players then I think we will have had a good season with cause for optimism.

We have a number of key injuries. Good players win football games, there is only so much a manager can do - sacking him at this stage would be knee jerk, weak and naive.

agreed we've missed him a lot. but still, a loan player we signed mid-term, who we only had for another month anyway? it tells a more worrying tale, that we grew so reliant on that

Every club is reliant on loans at this level, it's modern football.

for the record, i'm not for sacking him. i said i'd judge him on his efforts this time round. there are still way too many people holding him in his god-like status from 96. it means **** all. and in my opinion, as a barnsley manager since 2013, his stats have been poor.

for as long as i remember, people have put our results down to the budget compared to other champ teams. now we have a budget that's well in the top 6, for the league we're in. so far, our league position and our performances just aren't good enough.

Williams has made a massive difference for us this season, our good run started when he signed and stopped when he got injured.

he did. on two separate occasions, i was in the room when he did. my point is, the fans have every right to share that expectation. especially when it's around the time they're trying to flog season tickets.

i don't even really expect top 6, or promotion. but ffs - at least be fighting for top 6? with attacking, cohesive football, from players who actually know what they're supposed to be doing. surely we should expect that? what i'm seeing at the minute, truly feels as bad as anything i remember under hill or flitcroft. it feels that bad to me. awful to watch.

Hill with a taped up gob would have been our best option over recent years.

Mark Robins started all the negative budget crap yet people seem to like him. Danny is a proper manager and a proper bloke and people should just trust him to get on with the job.

Well he's been on the job for a year now.

If he proper relegates us do we lose our trust?

I agree, but you cant keep judging a manager on 20 -50 games, especially if hes a bloke thats been around the block.

I dont think we will be relegated, we might just have to accept this as a another crap season to go with the the last few.
