why was that? He came to Britain and he has been training with us at Oakwell. I was under the impression that Spain was in the EEC just like us, so why was there a problem? I have no idea how a visa works, could someone enlighten me as to the rules about this.
He probably had to send his passport in to get the visa put in, therefore without his passport he wouldn't be able to travel outside the country.
it does seem a lot of red tape and it makes me smile, they are able to put the skids on a pro footballer visiting for just a week for training.I wonder just how good their immigration control is, if its as good as the UK then its laughable.
Re: it does seem a lot of red tape Nothing to do with Spain's immigration....it will be his UK work visa that is being processed., so his passport is with UKBA. Nothing untoward about it, my missus was without her passport for a month when she was applying for next stage of her visa, we had to work our travel plans around it.
Re: thanks for that. It answers the question. still red tape though Mido would come to Britain on a UK Visa on his passport not an EU one. Therefore he would need to go to the Spanish Embassy or Consulate to obtain a visa for Spain.
Re: thanks for that. It answers the question. still red tape though Mido have the UK nationality so he dont need visa to travel to spain and he stayed in England to have extra training sessions and he joined the training today with the rest of the team
I think it was because we were flying with Ryanair and the club couldn't afford the excess baggage weight charge he would have incurred.
