    When I read that I often wonder why I was so sh it at football. If I’d have been a horse, trainers would have paid millions for me on my bloodline alone.

    Dad played for England youth, record appearances for a Club, widely recognised as one of the best players to play in the shirt.

    Great Uncle, still record goalscorer, who played for England (scored 4 in 6 games) and who scored nearly 300 league goals in under 600 games, for BFC, Leicester and Manchester United.

    Yet I was distinctly average at the game.

    Great at shagging though.

    Prefer white shorts wirh horizontal red and white stripes. Won promotion to Premier league with that kit and I think to championship too a few years later.

    Personally i also find
    being able to work a hour or too in hand helps

    Yes he was my great Uncle, so my Dads uncle. Never met him but he used to come and watch my Dad play. He'd passed away before I was born I think in the early 70s.

    He'd have been worth millions these days, both in transfer fees and wages. Why did he only make 6 appearances for England?

    Honestly don't know mate. I think its probably the era. England wouldn't have played many games in the 1930s each season, outside of the home nations internationals.

    Interestingly Pongo Waring also played for England during that period, so 2 lads with BFC connections.

    Definitely not enough Pongos in the game these days. Or Nobbies. I'm sure we'd be higher up the league if we had Pongo Cosgrove and Nobby Watters up front.
