Birmingham.
Coventry
Palace
Ipswich
Leeds
Norwich
Preston
Washday
Sunderland
West Brom
Wolves.
Unless we strengthen and add quality to the back 4 and midfield. I'd like a goalscorer too but Cardiff are paying him daft money.
So we have to get 50 points from 24 matches v the other teams in The Championship.
I can't believe some folk think there are only a few good teams in this league. Even 'average' sides have better squads than us.
Wonder when it'll sink in in the boardroom ?

RE: I mentioned 6 or 7 teams "as poor" as us yesterday. Colchester.
That's it imho. Think Southend will be difficult to beat.

RE: I mentioned 6 or 7 teams "as poor" as us yesterday. D.H. I think some of those on here are reincarnated from the crew of the Titanic. Keep a lookout for those fooking iceburges and inform the arrogant captain shepherd if there are signs that the ship might sink. ff ff ff ff ff ff
we don't have to get 50 points we just have to do better than 3 other teams ... 10 pts will do if they only get 9
That was just a silly comment But at the moment I don't hold out much hope for our chances next year. Still prepared to see who we bring in like.
I haven't gone 'negative' I'm not making crap up about having 'inside info' on the club not spending money or the club ringing up 'a friend' asking why he's not renewed his season ticket (load of bowlax), nor am I launching flipping idiotic conspiracy theories about Ritchie getting stitched up so he'll get the sack.
I'm genuinely concerned about the strength of the squad as it stands to see through a long hard season in a higher standard of football than most of them have played at before.
I think individuals like Hassell, Reid, Hecky, Hayes and Howard for example will cope quite well, and I'm sure the rest will work hard. But imho we are lacking experience and quality in the back 4 and middle of the park especially. We are going to come up against strong, powerful, pacey sides who, in many cases will have Premiership experienced players in their squads. As it stands, I don't think we have it within our side to compete for 46 games against such sides.
I'm happy with 4th from bottom next season, even with additions to the squad. As it stands I don't think we'll achieve that.

Well said that man. Also I believe we're trying to bring in quality replacements but I don't think we're offering enough to do so. If we don't then I reckon the resulting attendances will prove it to have been false economy.
RE: Well said that man. Understand what you are saying, but: (a) Are we allowed to offer higher salaries under the new rules on salary capping to percentage of income ? (b) Are we prepared to take a gamble on money given that we have just come out of administration and the severe penalties palced on clubs going into admin now.
Can't see how the salary cap is stopping anything considering we have fewer players than last season and those who have re-signed seem to have done so for the same or even less than they were on last season.
RE: Well said that man. I don't think the salary capping applies and, as I said, I think the rise in attendances could more than cover the increased salaries. I think, no matter what the outcome to our season, the financially imprudent thing to do would be to NOT speculate.
RE: I haven't gone 'negative' I agree with your sentiment Dirk but think we lack experience and quality in every department including, if not especially, the bench, and perhaps even more importantly on the coaching/management side aswell. How long can RH continue as Assistant Manager/coach/Physio! Many people have mentioned GS and his lack of footballing nouse but praised his business skills. Management structure is vitally important and it doesnt need a footballing background to see that a Championship Team need a strong backroom staff in place. This could be a bigger problem than the size or quality of the squad!
I wouldn't gamble but we should have more income than last season and so should be able to build on what we had. Instead we have let McPhail go, fair enough 'cos it looks like he was going anyway, but with Shuker we seem to have let him walk away and are looking to fill in by playing Hayes wide and McParland, who is pretty much untried. That's not building on what we had, it's dismantling it a bit.
I bet we do A £50 donation by the loser to the winner's nominated charity ? Also , if you can give me the name of another "actress" ( other than Sylvia Saint ) , I'll post some photos for you ( rota day off ) . (Y) (Y) (Y)
