Lets hope this break and the new faces have a positive effect. If that fails then lets hope there are three worse team than us at the end of the season.
I agree, I think we've enough to stay up as well; lets think positive. I go on the EnglandFans website quite a bit where most if not all the Championship clubs are represented and most of the fans of teams in the lower half of the table think they're doomed. Thankfully it's not just Barnsley fans who are pessimistic
I don't think we will either It's disappointing that we are even talking about the subject again. This season should have and COULD have been much better. Blame the players, blame the management, blame the fans - who knows what has really gone wrong again this season? This squad of players are as good a bunch as we have had for a long, long time and they should be comfortably holding their own at this level. The obvious target is the manager's naivety in football management. Maybe he never will be up to it. On the other hand, he might just develop into a half decent man manager. We probably won't gain anything by sacking him right now so let's hope we win just enough games to be safe again and then, in the summer, the club can move forward. Course, we said that LAST summer and little progress has been made. On the other hand, why not argue that survival in this league will be success in itself. I'm prepared to believe that the players have it in them to get those wins, despite the manager rather than because of him. Then, with a bit of tweaking at the end of the season, we can get better for next year. Just my opinion of course, based on over 40 years of seeing MUCH MUCH worse than this lot
agree i do not think we will either but then even if we do stay up people will start moaning about "progress" even if we do finish better than last season!
RE: "moaning about progress" Should we not be doing better this season? Should we just be forever happy with finishing bottom 5? Apart from the cup run we have done nothing since Davey took over, we are in the same situation.
If you say that EVERY season One season it will come true and you'll be able to say "Told you so"
Im not so sure and certainly wouldnt bet either way. If we continue to play like we have the last 5 games, we will. On the assumption that the new players will improve us, its just a case of how much and what everyone else around us does. I can see us finishing midtable and equally I can see us getting dragged into the bottom three. 18 points and we'll stay up, 6 wins from what we've got left, hmmmm, need to beat the likes of Brum at home, tough ask. Our last 3 games arent easy, and certainly dont want to have to go to Plymouth and get summat. In the balance.
