Must’ve been putting some horrendous stuff to get banned. Although, today it’s not forced to be legit.
How far should freedom of speech go though. Like somebody else asked, it depends on what the fan did say/post. But a two year ban from the club, does sound harsh. Ive heard there's some appalling comments from some so called footy 'fans' on Twitter, who take it way too far. And apparently this includes some of ours as well, towards Julie Q.
Freedom of speech isn't freedom from the consequences of your speech. If you walked into a restaurant and called the chef a **** you wouldn't expect him to then happily cook you a steak. That said, without knowing what the comments are it's impossible to say whether this is a proportionate response from the club or not.
It includes fans at matches as well though. Some who think that as they have paid for a ticket, they can say whatever they want!. And how many of them don't like it then, when some players react back to them.
Whatever it was it was fully deserved. The Yeovil owner has, on twitter, allegedly accused fans of being paedophiles, allegedly told them to go f*** themselves, allegedly threatened to kill rival club owners and his ex gf turned up at a game with a black eye after dumping him and him allegedly threatening to kill her.
Guy I know has been banned from Scunny for the rest of the season, almost identical letter. He played in their academy years ago, he runs local businesses that have provided catering there and done loads for the club, and just because he's p!$$ed off the wrong person he's had his letter. Unreal.
The difference between Yeovil and us is, obvious if it was one of our fans the board would have made it compulsory for the person in question to attend for the next two years and to add further insult to injury, they would be made to sit in the directors box, and not only be made to watch the 5h ite been served up on the field but also have to listen to the boll**ks been spouted, about us being a top 3 team
