Over the season I have been going over to oppos chat sites and getting their opinions on how they think the up and coming game will turn out . I am Admin on http://cockneyboys.forumotion.co.uk/forum ( if you do pop in , play nice ) and would like to get some feedback which I will post in our Match Thread for the game on friday . You are sitting in 18th place and there is no chance in you going down as Pompey and Doncaster have two places already sorted for the drop and you would really have to drop a clanger to go down with them , but do you think you could of done better and gained more places if so , why ? Who do you think we should keep an eye on on friday and who are your best players at the mo ? Give us your honest opinion on Hill and your owner and what could they have done this season to get you further up the chumps league ? You really have been up and down the league,s over the years , do you think you have any chance of making it back to the Prem at any time ? What do you think our chances are of making automatic promotion now after we ballsed it up against reading ? You know our team or you should do , if you dont do a bit of homework and let me know who in your opinion will give you problems ? last , what do you think the score will be ? Cheers for your time , I wont say good luck as I would,nt mean it
We don't have any threatening players at the moment. We had three and you nicked one of 'em! There is always a hope of getting back to the Prem but it becomes increasingly difficult year on year - especially with parachute payments being extended to four years - possibly the biggest injustice in modern day football. BUT if a much smaller club like Blackpool can do it there is always hope. Hill is a man with a good track record at the lower level but I think the jump has taken him by surprise. He has the makings of a good manager but he needs to learn a bit of humility and when to keep his trap shut. Chairman has lost interest unfortunately. I'm going to go for a 1-1 draw and I don't think you will get automatic promotion as I can't see the top two throwing it away now.
We would have done better if clubs like you who are using borrowed money to buy players like Vaz Te were dealt with. Hill has done a good job in trying circumstances. See above and also that our owner is facing clink time so we have had to run a tighter ship than normal meaning we will make a profit this season. Best player is on your team, at Leicester and out injured after being assaulted by M Brown of Dirty Leeds. We could have told Fat Sam to **** off when he came calling for Vaz Te and bought Danny Drinkwater instead of Leicester. Vaz Te wil pose a threat and will the Noble that can play. Take the other one back with you will you? No chance of Prem again in all honesty unless football gets a grip sometime soon. Hope you don't go up because (I think you will like this one) I can't stand Allardyce and That London is always a good day out.
'We would have done better if clubs like you who are using borrowed money to buy players like Vaz Te were dealt with' 'We could have bought Danny Drinkwater instead of Leicester' Buy him with borrowed money?
West Ham have got the backing of the former Birmingham City owners man for man they should be much the best. Home form has been poor though and Birmingham are a bogey side so it would be tough in play offs. Its the first of 6 cup finals for both teams and whatever the result Im sure the players will be relishing the challenge as much as the supporters.
Reminds me of that time in Dublin when you got the wrong end of the stick with that Rotherham fan who heard us talking about Guy Branston.
We will be back in the Prem in 4 years and in Europe in 5. Watch out for our Right Back Wiseman he is as quick as Billy Whizz and Alf Tupper rolled into one. That Clyde Best seems an handful and could cause us problems.
When we were in that bar where the barman called us English ****ers after we'd bought about thirty drinks. We were talking about Guy Branston and that bloke who was a Rotherham fan asked if we were. You got really defensive and started "I'm not from Rotherham I'm from t'tarn and I support tarn". He was just trying to be friendly. Can't believe you can't remember but you were blindo.
Our two best players by some distance were Butterfield and Vaz Te. You know what happened to Vaz Te, while Michael Brown put in a pretty shocking tackle on Butterfield on New Year's Eve which put him out for the season. They were part of a very competent midfield 5 who had us hovering around 10th place after the first half of the season. Two more from that midfield (O'Brien and Perkins) have spent much of the second half of the season injured, while the final piece in the jigsaw (Drinkwater) was sold to Leicester when we thought we had him on loan for the rest of the season from Man Utd. That pretty much ****** it. The team we've got left is a nightmare. We rarely have a shot at goal any more, we've scored 1 goal in the last 6 games, the defence has more holes than a colander, and we're comfortably the worst team in the division. We've gone from being a match for anyone on our day to being a match for no one and although relegation still looks unlikely it looked impossible in January when we were 18 points clear. We've simply capitulated. So to your questions. Could we have done better? If our players hadn't been kicked to bits or sold then most certainly yes. As I explained above, we no longer have any good players, with the possible exception of Davies, but he is so starved of service that he's rendered impotent. If you judge Hill on the first half of the season he's great, on the second he's terrible. He lost his best players, but the replacements he's brought in haven't been up to it. He's signed over 20 players this season and most haven't worked. The reality of the situation is that we've probably got an average manager at this level who has a bit of a big gob. If Blackpool can make the Premiership any one can, but I wouldn't be placing a bet that it will be us any time soon. Southampton and Reading look almost certain for promotion now. You'll have to take your chances in the play-offs. You'll cause us problems from all areas of the pitch and should run out easy winners. Barnsley 0-3 West Ham.
It was that desperate there last season they were making a big deal over turning lights off! Chicken feed when you compare that to the wages they will be paying out...
