How much to build/design a website with up to 5 pages to it, linked from the home page and able to be updated with 'news' on a weekly basis ? How much for hosting ? I would potentially want to sell from it at some stage in the future.</p>

I know nothing about the internet/IT btw.</p>

 

Depending on the type of site you want can depend on the price for a normal site I usually charge £30 per page initial setup any changes are negotiable. depending on the sort of content you want updating. I use a company called webmania to buy the domain name and hosting. I have about 4 sites with them and they are excellent value.

Don't care how you charge, just my personal opinion is, people who charge by the page are ****.</p>

99% of the effort is in the initial concept, approval, refinement, sorting content, building the layout, tweaking it in different browsers etc. Once you have one page, it is usually minutes of work for any extra pages, so unless you are building a massive site, or are working with something unusual, the actual number of pages is pretty irrelevant.
