A very good addition to our squad.Hopefully M.D and JCR will continue the good work but its nice to know theres someone out there pushing them to their limits.
In the interview with Simon Davey, he was asked whether or not it was with a view to a permanent signing and Davey said it would all depend on how he fits in and performs , so I would assume that yes, it is with a permanent view in mind.
heard fm a reliable source that the hold up in the howard saga was due to the reluctance of howard givin bk the 300k house he was bought by the club so if thats true he almost went for nowt
I'm sure they would have done some sort of a "contract" though, I don't think that Howard could just refuse to give back the house and keep it like that! Perhaps he can keep it until he signs for Sheff Utd permanently, or something.
Agree that it's nice to have competition for places on wings with JCR and Devaney, can't be having complacency getting in to them! Heard good reviews about Whaley and he's always played well when i've seen him play on the tele, against us etc. Heres to hoping it will be made permanently in January.
You can't knock Davey if quality player becomes available he's not afraid to give some competition to the team. Cover now for both wings lets hope there's a striker out there wanting a move.
Not true about the house I go to see Hecky and his family a lot and he lives 3 doors down from Howard. Howards house is not worth £300k for starters. Also it was bought by Howard not the club, and there is not a for sale/let sign on the house.
RE: Not true about the house It won't have been far off 300k when it was bought. My brother lives about 200 yards away from him and his cost 195k but is nothing of a house compared to Howards. They bought at about the same time too.
We needed to bring another wide player in. There is no quality replacement for either JCR or Devaney (Leon can do a job I suppose but it looks like Mounir is not going to play) and the fact that Whalley can play on both sides is ideal. We have now got 3 wingers who can play on either side. Lets hope Whalley is a worker like the other 2. I have seen him play quite alot (against us, and on tv in other games) and he has often impressed. I was surprised when I heard we had loaned him.
