Am ready for a break from football now, this last few months have been awful…….fans are toxic, atmosphere at oakwell is non existant, team have been woeful……..some players seem to be going through motions too much for me, I hope to god we can turn out a decent display for next week and have a crack at the play offs but a can’t wait for a break from it all too
A large part of me wants us to win next week and have the excitement/nerves of the play offs again, extend our season and have the chance to (unlikely as it would seem) play in a higher division next season. A smaller but not unsubstantial part of me is, like you, ready for a break from the frustration and general malaise of Collins ball. The Cheltenham and Cambridge home games, plus Charlton and Stevenage away sucked the remaining enthusiasm out of me and I decided not to go to the remaining games. I'll be furious if we don't finish in the top 6 after where we were prior to the Bolton game but at the same time, I think it'll save us the inevitable battering we'd get from whoever we came up against.
Get thissen darn t'Brig, or t'Rec, or Wombwell, or Penny Church for a proper fooitball experience. Loads o lads art theer feightin fer their shirts for 90 minutes - after a week o' proper work. Cheap as chips an all.
Wombwell Town v. Parkgate on Thursday should be a belter. As it happens I can’t get to the Northampton game anyway but if I could only go to one or t’other it would be a no-brainer. Not arsed about internationals so I will get a nice break from footy. I’m ready for it too.
