And we kept a clean sheet, so it's got to be better than the previous three home games. We didn't create much either and we've all got Preece to thank for a fantastic save to keep the scores level.

We started the game with a sort of 4-5-1 formation, but that didn't really work, so Robbins tried to shoehorn the players out on the field in to a 4-4-2 formation and that didn't work at all. I don't think I've ever seen so many players played out of position. I can sort of understand our new left winger playing at left back and our summer signing right winger playing on the left as they've played there before, but I was most confused by Anderson De Silva playing on the right wing and the young full back we have on loan playing in the centre of the park.

Darren Moore got the official man of the match and I wouldn't argue with that at all. Hume worked his nuts off and Julian Gray had a steady debut, but apart from that...

It's still very early days for Mark Robins and at least he's stopped the run of home defeats, but there's still plenty of improvement required. I'm sure he's well aware of that.

    Totally agree

We're going to have to be patient, he's still assembling the pieces of his jigsaw and it's still set to be a long, hard season.</p>

He'll do wonders to keep us up.

    RE: Dissapointed with today

We kept a clean sheet thanks to the ineptness of their strikers. We can thank our lucky stars that they don't have Scotland any more or we'd have been looking at 3-0. How he put that wide in the last minute I'll never know, and how did their player fail to convert the rebound from Preece's save early 2nd half?
Some weird tactical decisions as well. We've signed a left winger and played him at full back, and signed a full back and left him on the bench, then brought him on in the midfield. Has Simon left his tactical handbook behind for Robins to read?
Gray was too isolated up front to have an effect, although still should have scored in the 1st half. There seemed to be too much space between our midfielders especially in the 1st half when they were passing through us at will.
At least we didn't lose but I hope we don't line up like that against WBA next home game or it could be double figures!

There was no need for it though. Doyle could have played RM and ADS in the middle. Or Doyle could have gone to RB, Koz to LB, Gray to LM, Hammill to RM, ADS in middle. Players in their right positions.
