That Was Worth Staying Up For

Joe looked like he could seriously get beat early on. But for whatever reason his opponent had less stamina later on, even though he's in his prime. Both connected with some cracking shots, but neither ever looked like scoring a knockout. Both have a great chin on them.

    D/T.....

Were you taking the piss ? It was an excellent fight, between two very good boxers. Kessler is a top drawer fighter who couldpotentially clean up the Supermiddleweights when Calzaghe moves up and or retires.

    I See Hopkins...........

is doing his best to avoid Joe. Wanting too much money, home advantage, his weight catergory, belts on the line, to fight in the month he wants etc. For someone who claims he's up for fighting Joe, he's putting a lot of obsticles up.

    Deja Vu

Hopkins has done it in before. Agreed to fight Joe and then double his wage demand the night before contracts were signed.

Apparently he's making all the right noises again and Joe has scheduled a "major" press conference in London for lunchtime to announce his next opponent.

Will wait and see, but if Hopkins backs out again they'll have to start throwing corn down to tempt "old chicken" into the ring :D

    Plenty Of Press..........

are saying he should be beating Hamilton for Sports Personality Of The Year. I'd say Joe will come second, because when Ricky wins he will get the big award.

    In all fairness

...any of those would be a good shout.

Hamilton has performed miracles throughout his rookie season, Calzaghe has defended his title an unprecedented 21 times and Hatton has taken big fights to the Yanks in their backyard.

Plus the fact that with Hattons fight after Hamilton/Calzaghes year has finished, it'll be fresher in the mind - if he wins of course.

I'd have it Hamilton, Calzaghe then Hatton myself but what do I know. It'll probably go to some equestrian nobody anyway.

I was sober when I watched it, so I don't have that excuse, but I thought it was in the balance until about the 7th / 8th. Thought it was a great fight, ah well, can be asubjective thing boxing.
