Yes, a towering leap at the back post to head it downwards in a dangerous area.

    Very pleased for the lad.

Also, well said Maguire, talked down the mistake, saying defenders makes mistakes. Praised Stones form for club and country this season. Any other defender makes that mistake doesn’t get the same scrutiny. Keep going Stonesy **** em

Glossed over the powder puff attack and all the mistakes the forwards and midfielders made when they lost the ball.

ITV commentators really do having it in for Stones, I hate ITV anyway and it's the only time I use the channel, other players all night made mistakes, Stirling, Foden, Mount & Chilwell all gave the ball away when an easy pass was on, creating chances for Poland, nowt said, Harry McGuire was brilliant in his after match assessment, John Stones is a top class centre half, is he a perfect centre half? NO SUCH PLAYER!!!

Very true Marlon , we were winning the game via a soft penalty but as soon as Stones error it was down to him , the fact that we had created absolutely nothing seemed to escape the commentary team , we were shocking going forward but everything was Stone"s fault, the media make me sick

Fek in ell did your hear the post match interview with Southgate, just what the hell have they got against Stones? Asking g if he was still part of the plans. Roy Keen said he made the mistake because he was bored. No Roy, he simply had a bad touch that put him in trouble and the Poles took full advantage by scoring from it.

Personally, I still rate John Stones and Michal Helik. The next time I see someone who doesn't make a mistake will be the first time, whatever the profession.

Also why is Kane constantly dropping into midfield and leaving us with just Sterling in the box at times and i know he does it for Spurs but he does most damage getting on the end of crosses.

Don't watch ITV myself much, but just watching ITV news following the match, must say I'm impressed that they're taking the Government to task over the 'whitewash' that is the just released racism report.

Forward play was abysmal today but the mistake by Stones has given them a scape goat and excuse to not comment on the ineffectiveness of the attack .
That one mistake should have only endangered a clean sheet not almost cost us a game ffs .
We should have peppered that defense with the so called world class forwards and midfield back up .
It was abysmal and one mistake will define this match . Sheep

Stonsey will get over it much quicker than the pundits and media unfortunately. We won the game move on.

It's because like Rooney he's played that many games from a young age his legs have gone. I don't know whether anybodies noticed he's not as assured in his finishing. He's dropping back because he doesn't want to be the one missing the chances. When your primary role is striker that's hiding in plain sight. We might as well pick a playmaker and Calvin Lewin because he's congesting the midfield because he's lost his mojo.

Not studied him that closely but the stats don’t point to that, joint top goal scorer in PL & had most shots too.
I think sometimes it’s the opposite, they see the team struggling and think by dropping back to get the ball they can improve the team’s chances. The irony being if they kept their position they would be better positioned to help the team.
