In the face of adversity you have all come through this horrible week together.

Use this win to build and to shove the words and the boos back down the throats of the turncoat contingent of fans on here and at Oakwell.

    Good luck against Millwall!

    Up the Reds.

Of course, but the guy has been abused from the off. He's not been given chance to settle in. Its going to be a tough tough season, so please show a little support. There's nothing wrong with having a moan, and no one should be above criticism, but the over-reactions this week have been embarrassing.

I have far more in common with those who have a little boo after a loss to vent their frustrations than I do with those that still want to take a pop at Barnsley fans even after a win.

The former are just human, and you know they'll be back next week cheering the lads on to the pitch even if they were frustrated at the end of the previous game. There'll be plenty who booed after the 'Boro game who went to Reading to cheer the lads from start to finish today.

The latter are just sanctimonious bell ends.

You'd think booing after a football game and having your opinion on a team and manager was the worst crime on earth. It isn't.

The over reactions have been awful and as a passionate Red I haven't enjoyed this week at all. The negativity has been depressing and the attacks on Hill uncalled for , but Hill's comments about the fans have upset a lot of people, myself included. I never boo, go to as many aways as I can and don't ever class myself as a fan who doesn't get behind the team. Hill needs to get the fans on his side and last week he alienated many. It does work both ways. I know Whitey felt exactly the same.

No it's not Jay. It was the scale and the over-reaction that was way out of order and way too personal. The guy hasn't even had a honeymoon period.

I went to Forest and saw something in the performance to encourage me. Enough so that I could see past the admittedly poor home performances and give Hill a little time before I started laying in to him.

It's going to be a very hard season and we might be utter crap for the most part, but everyone deserves the chance to bed in in a new job, in any walk of life.

Fair comment Tina and I agree. However, how would you react if you'd have been subjected to the abuse he has? He obviously turned defensive, but he's only human after all.

I wouldn't be strong enough to take that kind of abuse, I know that for a fact. He will need a skin like a Rhino to cope with what's to come if things don't go to plan. He took the whole focus away from his team and it worked. They proved a few doubters wrong this afternoon and I am delighted for them all.

Never booed after a game in my life

No, actually, when we drew 3-3 with Ipswich after being 3-0 up I think I went a bit mental.

But it doesn't really hurt. If the players are crap then the crowd tell them so. Just like the Reading fans did today. And then it's over. Next week the same fans who booed will applaud when the players take the field. All is quickly forgotten.

Trouble is Keith Hill decided to make a big issue out of it as though Barnsley fans are different to other football fans, other human beings. He made out we were overly critical when in fact we were doing what everyone does. That got people's backs up and that caused a lot of the ill will that has gone on this week. If he'd just been a bit more pragmatic, accepted we didn't play well, said he'd make sure we do better then all this infighting might not have happened.

Keith Hill is the manager of Barnsley football club, but that doesn't just involve managing the players it also involves managing the paying customers, keeping them onside and managing expectations. Her failed to do that this week.

We haven't got poor fans here at Barnsley. We've a decent loyal fan base for a small town, which could rise sharply if we did well. But we don't like to have the piss taken out of us and I think a lot of us felt that was happening.

We'll lose again this year, without a doubt. Some folk will boo after. Let's not make a song and dance about it next time and it will be just like it never happened.

We don't expect any praise when we stay behind to cheer and shout after we've won, but we don't expect to be treated like dog **** just because someone had the audacity to boo. Like all other fans at all other clubs.

    Yep agree Jay

Play like Forest and today and not too many will grumble at Oakwell

As for Hill shoving it down throats as Mike Lowry wants, I don't. I think both sides need to come together and the last thing needed is for Hill to have a go.

    Spot on...agree entirely.

Oh and that Ipswich game was the only game that I have walked out early (albeit about 2 minutes before final whistle) so I think it's acceptable.

top top post Jay yet again. Too many new accounts on this being ultra defensive. No need for the fans to boo and no need for Hill to criticise us, we'll be here long after he's gone.

Yes we will. except HT, Extremely Northern, Mike Lowry and a few more, they are all going on to the next club to be Hillcrofts cheerleaders , probably be Barcelona as I have heard they are looking to replace Pep because he keeps buying stuff from Harrods.

Just heard Keith Hill's interview from after the game today

Seems he wants to keep on whipping up any tension between himself and the fans rather than trying to pacify or resolve it. Again he talks about the fans putting him under undue pressure and saying it's uncalled for. Again he's antagonistic. It's like he doesn't want the fans on side and doesn't want a good relationship. I can't understand that stance at all.

You'll fare a lot better if you've got us behind you Keith rather than against you. And you'll not get that if you continue to be deliberately provocative.
