The lad gets a lot of stick but he tries his hardest and is producing the goods on the pitch.

2 goals in a week won't do much to silence the doubters on here but well done anyway Big Man.

Agreed mate

he still has a lot of doubters and it seems whatever he does he cannot shake em. There are a lot of us though that does appreciate his contribution to the team

6 goals from us in 3 games - something is obviously working. I do feel for us though when we come up against the bigger teams, but theres a hell of a lot of teams that I think we can prove a real match to. We just need to believe in ourselves, and I think Ritchie instills that into the players really well. We could do with extending his contract before other clubs come sniffing.

Very true mate

The last 5 games i've seen Barnsley play that same attitude has been present, from the Walsall win, the Huddersfield semi's, Swansea, Cardiff and Hull. In 3 of those 5 games we have come from behind to win and although it's brilliant to watch it is still slightly worrying that we have to go behind to go at a team.

However 6 points from 9, two away wins in a week. I'd have bit thi hand off if that were offered two weeks ago.

Youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu Reddddddddddddddddddddddz

Not a prayer

When he needs so many chances to convert just 1.

Hope to God he proves me wrong though.

In my opinion, we need a striker that's ready now, not 1 that MIGHT be ready in a few years time.

Not sure

Probably another couple of weeks or so.

He'll have his detractors too cos he plays off the shoulder of the last defender & gets caught offside a lot.

Personally, I'd rather have Nardiello 1 on 1 with the keeper than Richards but I'm not Andy Ritchie.

Can we please...

save criticising the lad for when it actually costs us?

He's scored two massively important equalisers for us this week, not to mention the superb cross he put in for McIndoe's goal at Hull. He's got the ability - its about confidence, and I think we have to enjoy his run of form while its here. Rick Holden said he had a feeling Richards was going to have a great season, lets wait and see.

Ok

I'll hang fire but I believe that I'll be back very soon.

I will take no comfort from it but he isn't ready yet, IMHO.

As I said before, I hope he proves me wrong, but I doubt that he will.

When all's said & done, I am a Barnsley fan if not a Richards fan.

I thought it at the time..

but it wasn't as bad a miss as I thought when I watched it back. Yes, he should have scored, but it wasn't the empty net I thought it was.

Agreed

He was on the radio after and said he expected stick from the fans about it, but lets see if they would have put it away. Not always as easy as it looks.

Marc Richards is improving all the time. How daft Northampton look releasing him thinking he's not good enough for league two lol.

Richards is very under rated and is an important member of the squad. He's been a handful in every game he's played this season, holds the ball up well and is scoring goals. People may say that he misses too many chances but at least he gets himself in the right positions and never stops trying. The attitude Ricco has shown since he came to the club has been first class and if he continues to improve at the rate he has been then he will eventually silence his critics.

Its 50-50 Marc Richards will be in the team at the end of the season

On his current form......he woun't
His strike rate is very poor
1 from 5 attempts is 1st or 2nd division standards
We have got some decent players that can provide
They are laying it on a plate for him and he still int scoring
We need 2 proven goal scorers NOW....Shipperley and Pesci will do the job
Windass would also be good

Only thing Richards has got compared to the rest of the team is his ability to hold the ball and bring others into play.......and thats it.....nothing else
Richie said yesterday on radio Sheffield....we can't keep creating all these chances and missing them because when we come across better teams in this league you wont get many chances, so all the chances we do get we will have to score

In other words........we need a replacement for Richards

Utter B*ll*cks! We are the top scorers in the Championship for christ sake! Richards has played well in every game so far and has scored 2 goals in 3 games. You cannot possibly say that Marc Richards isn't having a positive effect on the team! Bringing in journeyman forwards on big wages doesn't guarentee success!

Christ am i reading this right?

Where on earth does this 1 from 5 come from?

He's got two goals from the four attempts he's had on target and one of them hit the bar.

And if you think that Windass would be better for Barnsley than a young lad like Ricco then you're seriously deluded.

"Only thing Richards has got compared to the rest of the team is his ability to hold the ball and bring others into play.......and thats it.....nothing else". Jesus wept!!! Apart from being joint top scorer i'm struggling to think of what else he brings to the club.

Bet you're one who has a go at him all game then when he scores still proclaims he's rubbish. Whatever happened to getting behind the team?

Think you'd be better off darn Pig Lane!!
