Not really They called off a game where the opposition was 300 miles away just over an hour before kick off so all the Carlisle fans who made their own way there were already there The reason for it getting called off was a frozen pitch - now I am sorry but they have ambitions to be a big club - venue was part of our World cup bid etc but they were the only league game called off in the entire country. Everyone else ensured the pitch was playable - its not as if the frost was a surprise - but surely if there had been any doubts they could have called it off much earlier the rearranged game will doubtless be a midweek evening game - how many Carlisle fans who could go on a Sat afternoon will be able to get there to the re-arranged fixture as a minimum they should be refunding petrol costs for the Carlisle fans who drove - there were a couple phoned up 606 on Sat when I was driving back from Leicester and they both reckoned for a 600 mile round trip they were looking at £100 in fuel alone
Re: Not really Having been at Oldham, Millwall and Hibernian before when games called off late, you got to feel for them. At least if was a decent city they could have gone off for a pint but not much to enjoy at MK
Re: Not really When I was at University in Colchester I used to watch the U's reguarly with some of my mates when they were at the bottom of the old 4th division. I remember a mid week game against Carlisle which was called off at 7.20pm because of fog - some Carlisle fans were just walking up Layer Road to the ground when we heard the news outside the ground - they had been travelling all fecking day. Never felt more sorry for any set of fans in my life.
Re: Not really MK Dons are a poodle club as far as i'm concerned, i don't think i could have any allegiance to them even if they were rank underdogs in a cup tie. theres only one dons and thats the crazy gang in wimbledon. great to see they're doing ok against the odds in the league.
Re: Not really Hopefully AFC wil be in the same league as MK soon, maybe even above them eventually. What a quandry for any old Dons fans who backed the move to MK.
