Excellent choice of mayor in Peter Davies. What a pity a chnage can't happen in Barnsley, where voters seem to stick with the same party as their forefathers.
see the point but English Democrats as a whole don't have the right message the answer is not seperate parliaments we might as well have independent countries get rid of devolution and have a British parliament for all of Britain there should be no distinction other than cultural between England, Scotland and Wales.
What a dick you are.. have you not noticed the labour majority dwindle locally over the years. Also, lest we forget, local people have been at the brunt of Tory vandalism, spite, etc particularly during the 1980s. Who could blame locals voting for a donkey if it stood for labour. Also, my allegiance, and my brothers and their families, with Barnsley FC came about as a result of my dad taking us to Oakwell when we were kids, So by your logic, I suppose I ought to abandon them and go watch a so-called more fashionable club (N)
Many of the members of the ED believe in unionism, however the Barnett formula, the devolution of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland by the Blair government, has brought unfairness to England. University fees paid by English students but a Scot can come to an English University and not pay one penny. Seven types of cancer drugs available in Scotland but not in England. Scottish, Welsh and NI MP's voting on purely English issues at Westminster (the West Lothian Question) etc. etc.
One good idea he is bringing in, he says that all the translation classes and schemes for people that move to Doncaster from other countries will all be cancelled. He says that people who move to the area should speak ENGLISH. Well done that man.
I live in the Doncaster Borough and I am appalled at this result. Flying the George Cross and cancelling translation classes will help Doncaster exactly how? I hope he maintains his pledge to have a vote on retainingthe position of an elected Mayor.
Any party which uses the nazis and a concentration camp on their website as a reason to vote for them can't be taken seriously.
If, for example, a fluent English speaker were transferred by his company from a European country to work in England, should his wife and children be denied English classes, and thereby be prevented from fully participating in the local community? Also, what about English classes for adult English people? Shouldn't these also be scrapped, since peope born in the area should already have an adequate command of the language?
No idea how cancelling translation classes can help.
But how can flying the George Cross hurt?

Thats the native Pikey population shafted then. Only English they know relates to selling heather, implementing curses, and the parking of caravans.
Them Haggis eaters and Sheep-******** get free perscriptions an all.
Ballerics to the lot on 'em!

Doncaster is unique, having lived in Mexborough most of my formative years, I can safely say that Donni council were corrupt beyound belief. Having said that, Martin Winter, what a great guy he was, huh? Come the socialist revolution, I hope and pray that ALL Mayors will form a queue to be drowned in The Don, good riddence to the lot of them.
RE: No idea how cancelling translation classes can help. I believe it's translation services not classes.
