ok let me tell you a Taffy yarn
it will bring tears to your eyes i warn you
when i was training in the army for |Mines a nd demolition
    we went to hereford
blowing tree stumps in fields around there

on saturday evening,on our frre time went to apub in herfeford
    it had been racing day
    the Pub ws Full
    i went to the toilet
and an elderly gentelman a Taffy
were chatting .i said i love to hear the welsh folk singing
he shoved a ten bob note in my tunic
    and left
i then went in to the room
    as soon as i did
the entire folk in there stated singing
    it was a welsh Choir
    fantastic it was

    wipe your eyes

i had a welsh pal called taffy simes
    we were good pals
we went to HONg KONG to gether
    i left in1951
    then went back to Korea

i met himon the Ship he was going there too

    oe day
    in the monsoon season
i had took a load up to the sharp end
    it was pouring with rain

coming twarss me was a Tank
it was like a pond no roads

the tank was being towed out thro the mud by a Diamond t
    we crawled past each other
sat on top of the Tank was Taffy Simes

    we said hello

he said say hello to my brother who was driving the diamond T

i never sen or heard of them any more

thats why i have a soft spot for the taffies

sorry about the long post and errors
    its the sherry
