There was a lot of banter at the time. I was saying -
we need to have cover for Colgan.........got that
Cover in midfield ...................got that
2 experienced centre halves...........ant got that
2 experienced or quality strikers.....ant got that

At the time i was getting accused of being a poor supporter because i should be getting behind the team no matter what

The question was for this thread - is the current squad good enough to survive in this league without further signings ???

. . . then I assume that your point is that you were wrong, and that you hold your hand up and admit it.

 

Still insist that we don't need 2 more strikers. Nardiello will be back and for me that will be ok. Also, feel we only need 1 centre half, and MAYBE a left back.

That posted abit earlier than I wanted it to!!!!

Adding on, midfield never an issue with me. Scoring goals for fun at the moment and I think that will continue. We are always going to create chances with MacIndoe, Devaney, Howard and sometimes Hayes getting balls into the box.

So based on your evidence, I think everyone as been wrong at some point including yourself.

 

The point is this............

We needed strengthening
Anybody who watches football could see this
But AR and GS plus all those on here said we don't......we have cover for all the positions
Reading todays Chronicle.......the club and supporters are saying this is NOW not the case

At the start of the season we had more than enough cover up front AND in midfield. I still stand by my comment that the current squad could survive in this league but extra competition will only improve things. AR had to give the current squad a chance, and so did I, and after seeing it the only thing I would change is one centre back.

Fair play if that is what he thinks. At start of season he prob looked at last seasons record and thought we would do slightly better at the back than we actually have.
Just because of bad results over last couple of games, you should know that he isn't going to go out and just loan anyone. He will wait until he can get someone who is better than what we have.

there was no fixed period in your original post ,so YOU have now decided that the evaluation period is over . The fact that AR has made a comment re a centre half has got nothing to do with wether we would SURVIVE in this league or not.

The idea was to see how we fared and to give last season's squad a chance. We can still strengthen the squad. At no point has anyone said we don't need any players.

Totally agree

2 experienced guys at the back and two up front. Preferably with a bit of height.
Definately need a leader at the back first and foremost.
