RE: Hehe

He's on the same money as Chopra was - £9k/week, so no difference in salary there. Oh, and he was FREE. Yipeeee.

We haven't spent a penny so far on transfers and whilst the players we've brought in are on higher wages than the ones we replaced, we got rid of more than we've brought in. And we've still got the £5m from Chops to spend. Small beer in comparison to WBA don't get me wrong, but it's still big money as far as I'm concerned.

We made in excess of £1m last year btw, so would have thought with a bit of marketing on Fowlers' back we could make a few bob more.

With regards to promotion, I don't think the club want it this year either tbh and are gearing up for a big push next season - to coincide with our move to the new stadium.

Interesting times - looking from the outside I'd say Dave Jones was under a bit of pressure though - signing Fowler brings big expectations and after the way cardiff dropped off last year will the fans be happy again ?

we've got Peru's finest so an unknown quantity to say the least.....

Think Dave Jones would have been under pressure if we didn't replace Chops and started poorly but not so sure now. Expectation levels are bound to rise though.

We're still chasing 2 or 3 players and will have a much stronger squad than last year. That's the main reason we dropped off last season - small squad and injuries/suspensions.

Still need a keeper, big time. And another center forward & central midfielder to create genuine competition. Not trying to be greedy but we're nowhere near as strong as the likes of Charlton, West Brom, Southampton, Wolves etc in terms of depth.

Hungarians, Peruvians, whatever next? Is your manager/chairman on an airmiles bonus?

9k a week for a player who's only likely to play around 10 games is a risk isnt it?

I heard it was 15k a week but if they go up he will earn bonuses that are equivalent to 25k a week.

There's a fine line between experience and being past it. Let's hope for your sake that he's still got something to offer even though Leeds and Man City saw very little evidence of it. Some players command big salaries purely on reputation e.g. John Hartson at WBA who's long past his sell-by date. Spackman signed too many old has-beens for us which was the start of our decline. Kevin Richardson, Geoff Thomas both former England internationals who were'nt good enough for the championship to name but two.

Kevin Richardson - John Hendrie (to replace Redfearn)

    Geoff Thomas - Dave Bassett.

Spackoid signed the likes of Lumsdon, Sand, Rankin etc.

    Dave Jones.

Never mind being under pressure, what about his blood pressure. Look at the size of him, he's ballooned. Looks like he's been confiscating food from the players and having midnight feasts in his office.
