He knew his decision would be met with criticsm, hence the warning the other day. However, I think it takes a very brave man to announce an universal unpopular decision at such a time as he has.

    Dear, dear, dear.

    So do I

It takes some guts to employ someone who plays Robbie Williams in central midfield.

That would mean he actually cares what "we" think

The man I'm most dissapointed in is Patrick Cryne. What is wrong with him?

There is another adjective I might consider using

Rhymes with a Roman God of Lurve

You mean New Years Eve a Sunday when it could be hoped that us the fans have other things to occupy us rather than on the day of the big local derby AT HOME the day previous when we would have had the opportunity to give a more instant verdict,or am I just being cynical.......... HAPPY NEW YEAR BTW.

He said yesterday that he would be announcing the new manager next week. Given that supporters are reeling and hurt from an embarrassing performance yesterday, I would have thought it would have been better to wait until the tempers had cooled first.

Me too, because I know that I came away feeling a worse than I've done for a long time and can't help but feel that there must be some kind of reason ie it being true that somebody else turned down the job,but even then would have thought he would have been better hoping for a decent result Monday first sa they could still have told the players in case they thought stability might have helped.

    I'm worn out.

I was right behind him, then I was all sarcastic about Andy Ritchie being the only manager in the country who "didn't want to strengthen his squad," then I thought he actually was and apologised to GS and now he goes and shoves this up our noses. It's all a bit too much, I'm glad I haven't been handing over any money, I'd feel like a right mug.

    fully agreed

You've no idea how much i am regretting paying up front for a season ticket now. I honestly do not want to set foot inside oakwell again while it is being run by the current board of directors

Fine line between brave and stupid

attacking a machine gun in a war armed with only a large stick would be considered brave but it's unlikely you'll come back.

...my analagies are getting better, I had that one about boats when people were talking about Paddy Kenny :pff

Can't blame you, I haven't been since Ritchie was sacked.

Could never quite get to grips with it, what with all that went on pre-season.

Given that it was obviously all sorted prior to the Owls game, a brave man would have announced it pre kick-off. I reckon Mr S was hoping for a Reds win and then announce it in a blaze of glory. He was then left with no alternative but to annouce it yesterday anyway. Brave man? I think not.

For what it's worth, I believe Davey will do a good job for us (said as much a week ago).

I think they couldn't get anyone else on the money they are offering and the way Ritchie was treated.Good luck to Davey he's going to need it because on Saturdays evidence he hasn't got much of a clue how to select and motivate a football team.
