but to be honest I just cannot be bothered. If the players cannot be bothered then neither can I. I can see this being a lonnnng season of disappointment yet again, I even do not see us finishing higher than last season. Hope they are all happy when they draw their wages , enjoy lads you are worse than dole scroungers.
well fair enough. I assume you were at the game I was not and was even unable to listen to it too. So what on earth is the problem ST.... is it players, manager a mix of both or is it that we still have not 'Clicked' as a team yet ?
Re: well fair enough. I assume you were at the game Too many similar players, square pegs in round holes and a manager making poor tactical decisions. We have so many central midfielder that Johnson must struggle to decide who to drop so instead he plays a load of them at once which doesn't work. Add to that the fact that he's playing players out of position. Nyatanga at full back where he is slow and constantly caught out by commuting forward and not being able to get back for example. Hourihane out on the wing, scowen deeper than the Mariana trench are others. And a third problem is the dreadfully negative tactics, pulling everyone back inside the penalty area when defending a corner in my opinion led to their first goal. The box was just too crowded. And then to make matters worse his subs were poor. Took off our creative players and then didn't bother using his last sub at all despite winnall being knackered and Jackson sitting on the bench. All in all a very poor performance and all of them caused by johnson
I don't think you can question anyone's effort. LJ is determined to play all of his favourite defenders, because he can't choose between 3 centre backs ; and he can't find the right blend of Scowen, Hourihane , Pearson, Crowley, Watkins, and the others to make it a 4 across the middle. Therefore we end up with 1 man up front. Having said that, the majority of the crowd was screaming for 2 up front, but when that happened our game was long ball, and everything was mopped up by their defenders.
Re: well fair enough. I assume you were at the game The problem may have been that you have no Barnsley Player subscription?
Re: well fair enough. I assume you were at the game Perfectly summed up. We have a plethora of pretty good central midfielders, none of whom are the obvious choice to leave out and as such all play. We therefore have too many players all wanting to do the same thing and crowding the central area. We have little natural width, with Nyatanga totally unsuited to the left back role. Our only way through to goal is intricate one touch passes that very seldom work, meaning Winnall comes increasingly isolated. Johnson has to be brave, leave a couple of the midifelders out, get a simple, workable system and get players in their natural positions. I actually think we have good players but they're being held back by a muddled, confused system.
