With a quote from here http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ns-accused-vile-chants.html?ito=feeds-newsxml
Tyke1 didn't do anything wrong, he just asked a question on a football forum. By all accounts this rumour was already spreading across the net before it was posted on here.
OK maybe the way he made the point was a bit crass and the subject incendiary but he was only reporting what he'd already heard elsewhere; my point is that it's not his fault and he was only using this forum in the same way it's been used countless times before.
The reason i believed it was/is true was because of how many people different people told me and how it was also doing the rounds on FB/Twitter/Other Messageboards BEFORE I got home from the game. why would loads of DIFFERENT people make the SAME story up? One of our players (No Names) put something about it on FB about 10-15 BEFORE I posted owt on here, so either way it would have been posted on here cause most will have seen, i only did what someone else would have posted, wish a didnt nar ffs. Im hoping it aint true, really i am but like i said why would different people come out with the exact same story?????
And it was posted on his FB BEFORE I posted on here so dunno why i get blamed, someone else will have seen it a few mins later im guessing and posted it on here. So why do i get in the neck from SOME people??? I only posted what i heard at game (from diff people) then got home and saw Clarke + few other peoples FB saying the exact same thing, then a status later with the quote in there saying someone heard it (from 1 fan) so it was true, it may not have been FANS like i got told at 1st but SOMEONE DID say it (as the quote says)
this is the internet at its worst plenty of good it has done but here we have a rumour which, having been at the game without seeing/hearing anything apart from Sharp giving some possibly misjudged gestures to the away fans after having being called fat, is based on absolutely nothing yet through twitter/fb etc it is now a story that may appear in print and Barnsley FC could well be tagged with this. Bloody ridiculous because, judging by the number of people on here saying they also heard nothing (I know I'm using the internet in the same way here but anyway) if there is any truth behind it at all it could have been one idiot, its a none story and its scary how quickly it can be blown out of proportion on a slow news day.
Has anyone noticed the bit where it says... Another wrote: 'Some Barnsley FC fans are disgraceful. They were chanting sick stuff at Sheffield utds Billy Sharp about his baby that passed away. SICK!' I'm sure he doesn't play for the blunts?
Someone's posted a video from the Leeds game of a small group in the ponty singing songs about the Leeds fans getting stabbed in turkey - all we need! Bit more fuel for the fire
They appear to be giving the story more prominence now although covering their backs by inviting responses from anyone who was at the game (hope they can verify this using ticket stubs). The quality of their journalism is exemplified by the caption under a picture of Billy Sharp's Twitter page showing his response 'to the vile abuse he received at Barnsley' (sic) This villification of the fans of Barnsley FC must not be allowed to carry on.
In essence they're saying: "We've published this story, now can you tell us if it's true or not." If it isn't, the heading under the picture is a f**king disgrace. "Sharp's reaction to the vile abuse he recieved"? Stick to hacking Hugh Grant's phone you bunch of muppets. RIP British journalism.
