Did he really say that his tactics last night were to exploit the full back areas using speed? If thats what he said is there a single living person who can explain how he was doing that?

He was explaining why he brought Smith on. He thought we could get at them out wide, attack the full backs. Which Smith did to some extent. I'm assuming that's why Kiwomya and Jennings came on too. Danny saw what he believed to be Fleetwood's weakest area and tried exploiting it. It didn't work. Mainly, because Jennings is ridiculously *****, seriously, he's heading into Brek Shea territory, Kiwomya is a fast little kid with nothing else to his game from what I can see so far, and Smith is a full back, who at just turned 18 is being given far too much to deal with in my opinion.
I wasn't arsed about Danny explaining his changes, I was though bloody laughing when he said we could go on a run and make the playoffs. We could, I suppose. Owt's possible. But him saying that after a display so awful, would be like me trying to climb Ilkley Moor and failing, then telling folk I could climb Everest.

    Agree with all of that

What did you think to Conor's display last night

I know you have more time for him than me.

I thought he was very poor along with another 8 players

If we lose Saturday do you think danny will be gone

    Here's Danny's audio from last night: https://audioboom.com/boos/2881764-barnsley-s-danny-wilson-on-the-2-1-defeat-to-fleetwood

Saying the anxiety and what not from the fans caused some of our bad football last night.

He wasn't great. I suppose his free kick led to our goal, and he did have a couple of long rangers, but they're not going in for him anymore. I still rate the lad, he's been a terrific signing but for whatever reasons we're not seeing the best of him right now. Although I'd aim my sights on a few others before him, if I was that way out. Our superb centre half has cost us two goals in the last two games, and I'm not on about BFJ.

    It wouldn't surprise me.

I took that to mean in the second half, not necessarily the start. Hence Smith coming on.

I read it, like Dyson and Whitey have said, to mean he made changes at half time to try and exploit the space out wide.

What I can not get my head round is that he didn't know that before the game. He should have gone at Fleetwood from the off with as much width as we could muster. Smith and Williams should have started with the instructions to overlap as much as possible. Put them on the back foot and don't let them get into the game.

But we started the game with Lalcovic qnd Hourihane playing wide. His changes throughout the game made us narrower and we started the second half much narower than we started the first. Poor smith was the only player on the left side of the pitcb at all in times with 3 fleetwood players around him.

Oh dear. He's sunk to Burke-esque levels now. The end is nigh.

Regardless of who says it Conan, don't you think it's true that an edgy, negative atmosphere transmits itself to the players and affects their performance?

I'm not interested in which comes first, the poor play or poor atmosphere, or if it happens at other clubs too, but whether you think that's true or not?

There wasn't a negative atmosphere - there was no atmosphere. The fans are past caring and just going through the motions. Like the players.

Do I think a negative atmosphere has a a negative impact the players? Probably. However, I thought the atmosphere was completely flat so while the fans didn't lift the players, neither did they give them any cause to be nervous.

    Really. You honestly believe that.

Where I was sat all around me fans were baying for blood from the kick off. Couldn't wait to ridicule. And the abuse was downright embarrassing.

Fair do we were ***** but a crowd like ours is only going to make us shiter

Burk-esque or not the Burk was right and so is Wilson imo

Wasmhe ********. Ha certain person lied to the fans. He promised one thing and then just weeks later he slated the fans for expecting what he had promised and denied ever saying it. HE caused the problems not the fans.

I don't care for what he promised. I hated the bloke.

He said the negativity around the place was affecting players. It was. And it is now.

But the negativity under both managers starts with them. Wilson's negative tactics affects his players and the fans and hill slagging the fans off from the get go affected them/us. They can't expect fans to be positive when they are negative in their approach to their jobs. If they think that our negativity affects players then they have to accept that prior to that their negativity affects us. It starts with them unfortunately
Edit:actually as I've said before the negativity starts above the manager. Everything from a rusty exit gate with flaky paint to a closed club shop in the east tand and a broken scoreboard gives out negative vibes that affects both players and fans alike. If Danny has a problem with it he should direct his veiled complaints to his boss not his customers
