our defence looked absolutly SHOCKING !!! A few clearences off the line by us but their players seem to be strolling round our defenders Kabba was in on goal and our defenders were just back peddleing, no one made the slightest effort to stop the shot coming in Key words in the Virgin Media commentary are ........."time to shoot" Kabba looked up had no one in 10 metres of him, picked his spot and blasted it SD said it was a world class goal, I would say it was a simple goal scored against a poor defence Disgusted (NOOO) (NOOO) (NOOO)
prob should have been devaney as he had been switched to the left, problem was him and teale switched over a couple of times and i think in this instance they were both on right wing.
Without singling individuals Kabba trotted towards our box totally untroubled by any Barnsley player.</p> Our midfield unit is crap. It neither backs the forwards up nor the defence. We rarely pick up the 2nd ball from any attacking or defensive situation. We are easy to play against. </p>
Midfield on Saturday was garbage </p> Colace "looked" good, but thinking back clearly wasn't doing his job. Howard had his usual (of late) performance, plenty of endevour but no product. Disco- he was about as "disco" as Kevin Dixon, he used to take a man and get crosses in, wasn't doing anything of the sort at the weekend. Midfield was just ****. At least Teale went forward when he came on, although he didn't get much return either.</p> On the plus side, we looked alright with Hume before he went off, even though he was still on Montreal time. Bit of kip for Tuesday and he'll be bang on it so long as he didn't get a knock.</p> Hopefully we'll have JCR back as well, Devaney must need a bit of a rest after all his "effort".</p>
I'll go back to my new favourite word - 'unit' Our midfield imho plays like 4 individuals. </p> I watched QPR yesterday, when they were attacking the midfield was there, waiting to benefit from any defensive slip, and when QPR were defending, again, theyw ere there to help out. Gavin Mahon especially. Didn't do anything special, just was always there getting at Southampton's forwards and offering an outlet when his team mates had the ball. A type of player we are missing at the mo.</p> I fear for the well being of internet Barnsley supporters if DeSilva comes back at half pace for a few games. The amount of expectation heaped upon him is a bit unrealistic imho. Hope he hits the ground running, but it's been a long lay off. </p>
Glanced at some comedy on here yesterday </p> "Simon Davey your taking my club down". "You should be ashamed". "Odejayi is ****". "We'll be back in lower leagues".</p> Did you go?</p> "No but....."</p> S'alrayt though, cos when Da Silva gets back we'll play like Forest circa 1979</p>
RE: Glanced at some comedy on here yesterday Forest Gump. Odejayi was our best player on Saturday I thought - which is an indication of how cack i thought it was overall.
I posted Saturday night after being in the boozer since full time Strangely coherent. Better than usual.</p> Don't like weekends on here, not nice. </p>
Simon Davey needs to sit Colace down in front of a video showing Claude Makélélé Claude Makélélé the best defensive midfielder.............probably that there has ever been Was never seen to get infront of the ball, he couldn't shoot and he couldn't dribble But was always there to break the play up and then just make a simple pass Kabba would not have had half an acre to play in if we had had someone only half as good as Claude Makélélé The goal by Kabba puts question marks on how good Colace is ??????????????????????? (chinny)
RE: Simon Davey needs to sit Colace down in front of a video showing Claude Makélélé To be fair, it was Colace's first game in a new team in a new country. I'm more concerned with how the midfield is set up as a unit, and how it is told to play in matches.</p> But whatever, there were enough Barnsley players within kicking distance of Kabba to stop him getting a shot off. </p>
Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't half of Claude Makélélé about £15million </p> Nah, you're right. He looked good, but that was because he was looking to go forward. I said it every time I saw Da Silva play when he was fit- he's the only reds player I have ever seen who has the discipline to stay back and do his job. He's awesome. Roll on October.</p>
