Surprised to hear so many changes before the game, a few of them were forced I know, however I thought the line up looked rather negative, especially with Dawson and Perkins together in the centre of the park.

That said, I thought that we should have been in front at the break; Bolton played a possession game but didn't challenge Steele in goal until about the 43rd minute when they really should have scored. It came about from a bit of ball watching from Cranie, who for me had an off day. I though we had the lions share of chances in the opening 45 minutes, but without really testing Bolton's keeper with the exception of a point blank header from Hassell (I think).

The 2nd half was a different story, Bolton's quality names started to provide the performance which matched their reputation, and we started to look tired very quickly. Wiseman in particular was having a stinker and they quickly exploited this. He's been one of our more consistent performers this season yet he wasn't at the races today.

Once we were a goal down, I'd have hoped we'd go for the game a bit more, but the substitutions came far too late really to have much impact on the game; Cywka and Pedersen are very capable players, but I think they needed to be miracle workers to be able to drag us back into a game which Bolton looked very comfortable in, in the space of 6 minutes.

    My ratings:

Steele 7, had a decent first game back, although made a few bad judgement calls with punching.
Wiseman 5, looked nackered in the 2nd half
Cranie 5.5, very out of sorts performace for him imo
Ramage 6, one of his better games for me, but still not spectacular
Kennedy 5, what can you say really
O'Brien 7.5, rightfully man of the match, our stand out player
Dawson 7, had a decent game for me
    Perkins 6, backwards
Hassell 6.5, just another Hassell performance, good to see him back
    Scotland 6, average
O'Grady 5, looked pretty lazy on a day we needed him to be at his best.
