so why exactly is he in charge? typically sycophantic w*nk appointment by the FA.

No idea. Definitely not at work, though. Honest.

We wouldn't win the home nations games with McClaren. Dyer up front. 33 games and no goals Dyer? He'd be my first choice striker.

Two Reasons Maybe Why He's In Charge

    1. To keep the "I want an Englishman in charge of England" brigade happy, even if he's not the right person for the job.

    2. Because he is a yes man for the FA and won't ruffle feathers in the headquarters.

after starting alan smith up front who has barely played as centre forward for the last 2 years.

i'm glad i didn't see the post match interview, i think i would have vomited at the sight of his smug, red face and obscure hairstyle.

it's a symptom of how badly run the F.A. actually is.

First Sven for got know how many millions (quarter finals man, with a semi finals team - no matter which way you cut it).

    Now this loser.

Wholesale changes need to be made within the F.A. machinery.

We'll never win any full stop.

There is much better international teams then England and it'll continue with the top clubs signing all these foreign stars.</p>

    Expectations are too high IMO

    he's never wrong. oh no.

it would go along the lines of

'there were a lot of plus points. we learned a lot. Lampard scored a great goal. I'm proud of the lads.'

    makes you sick.

me thinks he's only a stop gap until they get Arsene Wenger, i don't think he's signed a new contract yet, but he don't like English players

    thing is

i think you're quite right, player for player there are better squads than us, but surely thats the point in recruiting an inspirational manager - to create something bigger and better than the sum of it's parts?

    well..

    you're right!

"That was a tough game against a good German side and it was a great game for us in preparation for the next two games," McClaren told BBC Sport.

"We gave the ball away in silly areas and we got punished for that

"But I was pleased with the amount of chances we created and we played some good football."

The answer is NO. The FA appoint these managers on their smile and not to controversial on their private life and are squeeky clean. McClaren fits that bill, why oh why have we a old as-been like Venables riding shot-gun is anybodys guess.

But not let us put to much blame on the managment, or the assistant manager.
The real problem with the Englands set up is with the players themselves, these overpaid prima-donnas, ok, their England fees are going to charity . (Big deal). Terry and co £135,000 per week ,Beckham£100,00 per day, Lampard £90,000 per week and wanting more, Rio £120,000 per week. There isn't a feking England player on less than £60,00 per week.
There is the real reason why England will never win nothing again, these players, are made, they are in a world that we as fans can only dream about and a comfort zone that few of us can earn that sort of money in 12 months, what they get in a week or hour.
Their life style is unbeleivable, big cars , big houses, beautiful women, and who pays for this luxurious life style, Joe Bloggs who gets £12,000 a year if he is lucky. Let us bring in a Manager that as done the business at international level , a manager that as won something for gods sake, a manager who will look round other divisions in the football league and find players who are not in the comfort zone, and who will be proud to wear the England shirt. just my thoughts.
