Being a fan of our club certainly has more downs than ups. It does make you appreciate the ups when they occur. This season has been a trial of the soul. Four wins out of thirty three league & cup games is pitiful and pathetic, there can be no excuse for such a shameful record. It will probably need something special to avoid the drop this time and many have already decided (probably accurately) this won't be achieved. In a perverse sort of way, the anger, frustration & criticism vented on here can actually be seen as a positive. It shows people care passionately (even if at times they claim otherwise) about our club and it really hurts when, over the years, the players & management continually fail to deliver even the basics. Personally, I STILL believe we'll scrape out of this. I accept this is based more on hope & faith than conviction.
Blackpool away, Charlton, Ipswich home, Wednesday away - 6 points gone through being unprofessional. Would have us out of bother. Fine margins and all that.
It would've moved us out of the bottom three, but not out of bother. We'd still be in a relegation battle. Every other club in the mire could also claim something similar, but it is what it is. There's no way I've given up the fight. A couple of wins over Millwall & Huddersfield can change things round completely. I'm one of life's optimists, which is why I believe we'll stop up. It doesn't mean, though, I'm unaware or ignoring the situation we're in.
Need to beat the teams around us, (if we ever get to play Charlton) fwiw this season I think Huddersfield away will be an embarrassment, can see a 4 or 5 nowter coming.
Flipping heck! I'd be unbearable were that to happen! Perhaps it'd be best if I threw in the towel, then I could try & kid myself I don't care any more. For the time being, I'll refrain.
Lets give it all against Millwall, attacking line up and positive tactics please, then even if we lose were giving it our best shot which were not doing at present. If were going down lets go down all guns blazing.
Well, Trev, the cautious approach used for most of this season has been an abject failure, so it can't be any worse.
