    What are the "pundits" saying?

    Oh no.

England. Should have won every World Cup since 66 if the pundits are to believed.

Nigel Spackman is/was/will be again soon a pundit. Nuff said

Well, they were building up hopes before the game

based on the team having management and back room staff that the players actually liked.

    im not saying that

i just think that the way the "media" - well the tabloids approach the national team acts as a major hindrance to us.

Of course, they know for a fact that none of them liked Sven, and correct me if I'm wrong, McClaren was there. All he has done is bring Spiv in.

England did a good job, what did you expect , another 5 - 0...

far away from home, against a side fired up to prove summat. Not the best pitch. We never really looked like conceding I thought.Yes a few scares, but nowt to worry about, If we get 1 - 0 every game I won't complain..Its not pictures its points matey.

I hope McClaren does well. But he'll have done well to emulate Sven's record. Not watched the match so can't comment on the quality of the play, but I see a theme developing here...could it be we are not as good as we think we are?

    Don't entirely agree

not pleasant viewing, granted but Macedonia (or Mexico as my seven year old keeps calling 'em) put us under far more pressure than Andorra ever would.
We needed a test, we needed a decent measure after the non events of Greece and Andorra and at the end of the day we were away from home in difficult surroundings and as I said ......

Well I was dead impressed I managed to watch the game in Munich

Found one of the Aussie bars was showing it - rather than the pantomime Germany game.

Not sure it was worth the effort to watch though.

One or two players short at the moment arent we - Defoe wtf. ditto Downing.
and I dont know whats happened to Lampard recently but he was awfull again.

Do mishit crosses count as assists?

FFS, stop complaining. Macedonia are tipped by some.....

...to take second place in the group, and having seen Russia v Croatia earlier, I'd say they have as good a chance as any. Granted, our game doesn't sound like it was pretty viewing - I'm sure Spain's fans enjoyed a cracking match against Northern Ireland.....
