..pick the bones out of that!! Where on earth do you start? Never before in living memory have I seen an away keeper have an easier 90 minutes, not one worthwhile effort to save. How can anybody have any faith in this manager to turn things around when you look at his baffling team selections and tactics, not to mention his questionable signings. We started with a centre half at right back, a right back at left back and our new £1 million plus striker on the left wing. Brilliant. Is it any wonder we can't score a goal from open play to save our lives. We cannot get behind teams because we have no width down the left hand side and as a result Cardiff doubled up on JCR (our only threat) and we proceded to go route one to the two most static flat footed strikers in the entire football league. I could go on but there's really no point. Make no mistake we are seriously in the brown stuff this time.
You can defend Davey as much as you like but 6 defeats in 7 games and only four goals scored tells it's own story. Good as he is, Anderson De silva is not going to be our saviour. The axe will definitely drop on Simon, it's just a case of when.
I just feel sorry for the next guy in the hot seat. Boy is he going to inherit some problems.
At least four players in key positions required and a whole load of crap on long contracts to get shut of. No doubt we'll just pay em up as we usually do.
One more thing. The handling of Brian Howard's new contract (or lack of) by BFC is a disgrace. How to piss off your best player in one easy lesson. Well done to all concerned.

    ahem

nevertheless, I think BH's conduct on the pitch has not been conducive to him being offered another contract.

I'm still pro-Davey, but it is dwindling a bit now. I still think he should be given a bit longer. I know we shouldn't be relying on Anderson getting fit, but we do look like a capable team when he plays IMO. Last season we were a far better team with him than without - and unless the injury has affected anything major, I have no reason to doubt that it can be the same again. I know we shouldn't be reliant on one player, but I'm afraid that's how it currently is - like it or not.

I also don't think we should get shut unless we have a good manager ready and waiting to accept the job - none of this Curbishley, Allardyce crap cos thats never gonna happen - Billy Davies on the other hand is a realistic choice. But I'd still give SD another month at least.

    RE: ahem

I agree he was poor tonight and looked totally disinterested. If you were working alongside colleagues earning far more than you and no-one was willing to talk to you about a pay rise would you be a little pissed off about it?
Considering his contribution over the last three years he deserves better.

How on earth can you defend a static unemotional manager with no tactical clue and who has lost 6 yes 6 of the last 7 games, again i repeat 6 of the last 7 games.
you are either blind or thick skinned or both

    Excellent post

It`s time to pick a balanced team which means playing players in their proper positions and not putting your center half at fullback just because he CAN play there, your most likely striker on the left and your best fullback on the wrong flank.

    As for

being booed & harrassed whilst you're working isnt conducive to a good performace is it?

Nothing Brian does comes off at the moment, confidence player, playing without confidence, wonder why?

Could it be worrying about job security?
Could it be being abused whilst working?

    Who knows eh?

Mate, we are all entitled to our opinions, and I value yours. I am purely (rightly or wrongly) wanting to see our side perform at full strength before I make further judgement. I know tactically he has been crap to put it bluntly, and normally i'm one of the mob who wants to see the manager go well before they were given the chop (Ritchie, Spackman, Hart to name but 3), but this time I think it's different with Davey - like I say my confidence in him is dropping, but given chance I think he could still go on to be a very good manager for us, but he does need to learn fast.

Probably waffling through tiredness now so I think i'd better go to bed and realise what crap im talking in the morning ;-)

    does he?

he has a fecking contract to play football.

No fecker pointed a gun against his head to sign the fecking thing.

He should be judged by his performances and on that basis this season he does not deserve an increased salary / contract.

He's a very well paid professional and should perform to the best of his ability, week in , week out. Club captain. enough said.

And besides that, no fecker on here has a clue about who earns what at jokewell, even if Brian Howard (or anyone else for that matter) told them what they wanted them to hear / think.

same on Satdi. Trying but nowt coming off. Harder he tries less comes off.

Confidence player lacking confidence as I said.

Think he could easily be a red card candidate through frustration

he was one rash challenge away from a red tonight. His midfield partner was no help in that he was getting advanced of Howard and then losing the ball, we need a defensive midfield player.... and he doesn't have to be tall... step forward a new Shez.

    RE: Brian Howard

I'm not pretending he's the Messiah pal, just the best we have. Let's sell him and see what a brilliant midfield we have left then. Or better still let's give him away next summer, that seems to be the plan....
Just what is it with Barnsley fans and wanting to bring down any decent player we have?
Dirk Hartog is right, maybe we do deserve what we get.

    Problem is

The new season ticket holder with his 2 young lads sat 3 seats away from me stating, What a waste of money and effort, i was filled with fasle hope for the club and even the manager in the dugout does not seem interested!!

Think Colace needs time to settle. Still looks 'lost' at times to me. Was getting under other players feet occasionally tonight
