a crowd now baying for Flitcroft's coronation

    all of a sudden

    how fickle you all are

but you saw how we played. Majestically. For us. Wiped the floor with Leeds. Again. At home.

except there are those that were silly and stayed away yet seem to think that their opinions bear the same weight

they saw nothing but their own disappointment at not being at one of those days that makes a bfc's life worth living!!

    and it's Flicroft for me

    Who could do more?

I wanted him as soon as I saw them play at Peterborough. Different side under Flicker.

Football fans in general are fickle.

What about the Burnley Cup game

That was no different and simply awful. Only very poor goalkeeping saved us from a replay. I await consistency before I go OTT.
However, I won't let anything take the shine off today

We've been playing like that for a while though - no different to the performances against Wednesday and Birmingham, the difference was the result.

What the blody hell has ficklety got to do with it? Flitcroft had something to prove to be in contention for the job, which he has admirably gone and done. Folk were right to be a little wary given the poor run of results and dodgy selections under Keith Hill/Flitcroft. There are a few mardy arses on here but they are hardly representative of the board and certainly not a match day crowd.

Trouble with calling folk fickle is that you are likely to have your own post history torn apart and something thrown back at you.

It was evident then that Flitcroft is very much his own man and capable of fielding a competitive team. What 500 of us saw that day has now been witnessed by 10,000 only with even better performance against an apparently better side.

When does the right to form an opinion based on observational evidence become fickle.

Life isn't black and white and neither is football.

I beg to differ, yes we dominated possession against fowls and Brum through tippy tappy, sideways and backwards passing. I have never seen a performance like today this season.

This is the ultimate stubbornness test for some people. I think some people would rather die than admit they're wrong, especially with football.

I admit I was wrong with Flicker though. He's nothing like Keith and hopefully our giant board of 2 will realize he's our best chance at survival!

Agree to a certain extent Rich, but it was more "real" performance today. Maybe a bit more blood & guts, less pretty triangles, and a formation/team that seems to be working, rather than changing every week. We still played some nice football as well of course. And our luck changed, after hitting the post twice, Leeds could have scored off the bar, Dawson could have been sent off, and a we got a penalty, all close together. Let's face it Keith Hill wouldn't have had that luck.

I don't know, maybe the "Battling Barnsley" of old?

Seen more today and last week than in the last few months to think Flitcroft would give us real fighting chance to stay up.

It's a bit early to be spouting the we were right you were wrong stuff isn't it?

I had reservations about going today. In the end I went, and I'm glad I did. It's the first time, probably since the last time we beat Leeds that I have been really proud to be a Barnsley fan. It's a feeling I'd long forgotten.

I didn't want Flitcroft. I'm warming to him. I think the players are playing for him, and he comes across as passionate, and honourable.

The fact remains we have won one league game in ages. We're still in deep trouble. I hope he's the man, but who knows who is the best man for the job. I don't, you don't, Don & Patrick don't.... it's a tough call.

As for being fickle... well for anyone who didn't have the stomach for the game today, I'd say fair enough .... coming away from Oakwell in recent months has been awful. I'd say anyone who has watched football over the last year, but chosen not to go today, has an opinion as worthy as those who went today.

Disagree with that. The passing style remains but we have more tempo and a completely different shape. Combine that with the atmosphere and the importance of todays game and that was nothing like Wednesday or B'ham.
