Be interesting to compare wage bills between the two seasons.

It would also be impossible to do that and if we were to do that we'd have to compare the wage bills of all our rivals

I didn't say third bottom. I said the third worst team in the league. Portsmouth have amassed 43 points this season, just because they have had 10 of them deducted does not alter that fact.

If 3 teams had 55 points deducted I wouldn't consider the season a success if we finished 3 points above them having only gained 6 points all season.

No we are not. The third worst team in the league is Bristol who have amassed 31 points so far.

I prefer my league table to be based on facts, to be honest.

Is it a fact then that Portsmouth are the third worst team in the league? I don't see anywhere at all that says that is a FACT.

What I DO see as a fact is that based on RESULTS this season Bristol City are the third worst team in the league.

The FACTS to me are that Portsmouth have gained 43 points on the field and that they had ten points deducted for OFF the field activities which does not make them a bad footballing side.

No it isn't a fact that Portsmouth are the 3rd worst team in the season. They're 23rd. 2nd worst.

Of course it's a fact you pleb. If they are second bottom, they are second bottom, nothing else matters. Based on results, they have 10 more points. How many of those points were won by this Huselklepp character they couldn't afford to buy? How many cleans sheets down to Jason Pearce who they couldn't afford to buy?

Not that any of that matters. The only thing that matters is that the team who are 3RD BOTTOM OF THE LEAGUE are 14 points behind us.

Due to OFF the field problems. I'm sorry but I will give Keith Hill no credit for portsmouth being deducted 10 points and will judge him on how he has done ON the field which is to gain 11 points more than three other teams have managed on the pitch.

Ok, we'll agree to disagree on that one.

So, what's so bad about the fact that his record is currently exactly the same as the last managers record? Is that bad?

We look like staying up WITHOUT any (new) support from PC.

Which is what it was all about. It's diss appointing to lose to the bottom if the league but we are in another transitional phase.

The big question is how many will keep paying out for it? I predict a loss of another 1000 season tickets for next season.

Re: Points above third worst team in league 14

It isn't bad at all. My point was more that this season has not been the amazing brilliant season that some on here have claimed it to be. We haven't become a brilliant team who are so much better and more successful than the side we had last season and Keith Hill is not god while Robins was the devil. We have achieved the exact same level of success as last year whilst watching some really good games and some god awful ones.

Improvement on last season? very little if any.

The general manager of BFC announced in the summer that we would have passed the proposed new rules last season as well as this season. That means we can't have had financial input from Cryne last season either so if we have had to drastically reduce our expenditure this season in order to pass the same test we would have passed last season then isn't it fair to say that off the field we must be doing a WORSE job of raising income?

We had a Tory government last season too and the recession was a few years ago.
