Prof Nicholas White at the University of Oxford said: "We really do not know if chloroquine or hydroxychloroquine are beneficial or harmful against Covid-19..."

He's mocked because it's untested, not because it doesn't work.

I took my dads gout tablets long before I was diagnosed. He'd suffered with it that long that he knew I had it too.

I would still rather wait for a diagnosis and prescription. Drugs can have some horrid side effects.

Allopurinol has benefits for organs as it lowers uric acid levels in your blood. I'm on Ramipril for my blood pressure and that protects your kidneys and some other organs as well as your heart.

I think the Doctor in Australia is the real genius they treated their first wave of patients with anti-malaria and HIV drugs.

Yeah continuously. Nasal drip. Can be a right pain in the arse as it makes you twice as likely to get respiratory tract infections. I've had Bronchitis twice and suspected Covid-19 since taking the drug. However, touch wood it's keeping my blood pressure down.

Sorry folks I thought this was a music thread (not really the thread title just reminded me of this wilko penned song) Edit - co-incidence the OP named wilko88 - spooky or what?

    Well well well
I thought i heard it raining
All my love trouble in my mind
    Lay awake all night
Till the morning light came shining through the blind
    Well well well
How long did money hold you
If all my love can't keep you by my side
Everything you need lying at your feet
    And you won't be satisfied
    Big bell ring
    Somebody gotta go now
Rolling slow drivers dressed in black
As they passin' through start to think of you
And all my love comes back
    All my love
    Gone but not forgotten
Hate you now when i think of what you've done
I can't fool myself using someone else
    You're the only one

So are you saying based on this he shouldn’t be ‘mocked‘ now? He has received worldwide condemnation for taking and championing this unproven drug for Covid 19 for various reasons including, reducing its availability to those who already require It for their existing medical conditions, and because of the side effects. He’s simply taking a gamble, and on a product that I’ve heard has family financial interest in.

I think it's a bit of a red herring tbh....the drug has been out of patent for some time...so it's now classified as generic, meaning that anyone, anywhere in the world can make it.

It's just a pity the Muppet didn't take his other bad advice literally and sup a bottle of Domestos to keep himself from catching the virus. Then we'd all be a lot safer.
