... after a week of interesting and entertaining threads on Mellon, Flicker, Mansford, politics, racism and Norfolk Red's knob, it is back to the footie tomorrow. to be honest things that have happened recently in my sphere of friends and family have made me realise how trivial football really is. It doesn't matter what I think about the manager situation and no amount of me 'bairning' will matter a jot when it comes to the choice. One thing I am looking forward to is a pre match pint with ARK and his Dad, Bob which will raise the spirits, now whether they will be dashed at three pm, who knows. Talking of 'raising', that's not directed at Norfolk Red to whom I can only say 'ooooohhhh... OUCH, that's gotta sting' I can also say that when I read his posts I was grimacing and crossing my legs in a very tight protective manner.
It has been a good week BBS wise, take everything with a pinch of salt, have a good debate, a laugh and try not to think too hard about the state of the football. And, it's christmas soon, I've already started on the mince pies (home made by a colleague, infused with orange zest and brandy, dee-lish) and garlic pork scratchings ( a new one on me, but also very good). 3 points tomorrow, see some friends, have a pint and it will be a good weekend. No 3 points but everything else and it will still be a good weekend.
I'll be really apprehensive In future opening any of Norfolk Red's posts! Like you, I read of his problem cross legged, tears in my eyes and whimpering away. I'm looking forward to tomorrow's game, as always. But it also helps being in the company of barnsleyy66, Jay, jedi one, offspring & bigdave8322. Even on the gloomiest of days, watching the most tedious of games, these blokes ALWAYS raise my spirits and are great company.
