Should be a good day. The weather is looking good for Sunday. Two sets of supporters from less fashionable teams walking down Wembley Way making the most of the occasion. Although both Oxford and Barnsley have bigger fish to fry in the coming weeks, I'm sure both teams will be desperate to lift the trophy. In my book Barnsley should be favourites, although the bookies have it close. Losing John Lundstrum to suspension is a big blow to Oxford, but then gives someone else the chance to make a name. So no trouble, good atmosphere and Oxford to sneak it by the odd goal
Looking forward to it. In response to you losing Lundstram, our first choice front 2 appear to be very touch and go. We've enough quality elsewhere to make up for it but ideally you'd want the 2 players with 28 goals and 12 assists between them starting. Hope you have a good end to the season, this Sunday aside. Should be a cracking day out. Sent from my I-Oven using the internets
On paper we should have far too much quality for a depleted 3rd tier defence even if we are without Marley and SSW. However, as we all know football isn't played on paper. If it was we'd never have beaten Liverpool and Chelsea on our way to the FA Cup semi-final a few seasons back. Should be a great day with two attacking sides. Can't wait.
Have a good day pal, really looking forward to it - had 2 bad experiences at Wembley, more so last time because of Cardiff fans being dicks. Think Sunday will be a much more pleasant experience. All the best.
Looking forward to this for 6 weeks or so, the game is but a mere part of the weekend for me. A dozen mates out without the missus/kids for a couple of days, ale ont go, sights to see, piss to take, and of course a chance of seeing our club win a trophy at the end of it. If you can't get up for that, football's not for you. All the best to Oxford and their supporters. It will be a cracking weekend and I'm convinced something we'll talk about for years to come, much as we do with Ipswich fans to this day. We're a great bunch, don't read the media. Lovely weather for once would be the icing on the cake.
Oxford supporters are a friendly bunch, so should be lots a good humoured banter between the two sets. I think the first trains are arriving from Oxford at around 9.15 and then every 30 mins after that. 35 coaches from the London road club leaving around 10. I would guess more Barnsley supporters will be making a weekend of it due to the distance, Wembley pubs opening for 10 so hopefully should arrive in good time before they get rammed.
Amen to that. I think it will be a great day, whatever the result, although now we are there I am desperate for us to win it, even if it is "only" the JPT. If it is as good a day as the 2000 Play Off Final against Ipswich we are all in for a bloody treat. Best wishes to Oxford fans, it is likely to be a smashing atmosphere on Sunday - like you say, we are a good bunch - a few nobs but then we all have them and they will not be noticed in a 55k crowd. I can't wait now
From what I've read I think it's looking likely that Winnall will at least be on the bench. Not heard anything about Watkins mind. Paul Heckingbottom said that he'd only risk them if they were 100% fit and would be an improvement on the team. I think he's keeping his cards close to his chest.
