Let`s have your memories from our last visit. I remember there was some belters. Could even make this a sticky. If we had enough stories maybe we could publish and donate the cash to the ones we have lost recently ie Steve and Mark to name but two who will not be with us on the 5/6 April. Thoughts
I was only 9 at the time, so can't really remember much. But I can remember Hignett letting fly and it going in, the scenes then were unbelieveable, totally untrue. Can also remember walking out with tears and saying to my dad, bet we do a Sunderland and go up next year ;(
Wembley Way was my biggest memory of the day. Was 13 at the time - was tied to my brothers mate with a scarf for fear that I might get lost! The blue and white - red and white split looked fantastic as we walked up them bridge things. Even tho we lost it was a fantastic day out - Just hope we can go there and win this time.
i was 17 at the time walking up wembley way was amazing Fantastic day out couldnt believe the final score it could have been capped off either way, one thing i was gutted about was i thought hignett got bar and in... when i watched the reply was gutted to see it came back off richard wrights head!
The old Wembley is something I'll never forget. Red and Blue split, no sign of any trouble or anything. The atmosphere was electric. Standing on my seat all game so I could see as well. That flying save by Richard 'what happened to him' Wright in the 3ast few minutes from a Georgi Hristov header. Phenomenal.
Now then What a weekend, I've just been for a final interview in Yarm and got the job. Its based down south like.

Awesome

Yep I remember going even though I was only 5 at the time. Had been going to matches since I was 3, including some away with my Dad. Can remember some lad giving me one of those jesters hat, with the bells on, in the pub at the top of Wembley Way.
Wrights save from Hristovs header is the thing I remember most. And Barnards penalty miss. Why did he try and place it rather than his usual power? Got on coach after the game and somebody had gone missing. Sat on coach about an hour waiting for a lad. He had been 'playing football' in the carpark. He got some right hammer. Great day out though, the 2 sets of supporters mixed superbly. Have liked Ipswich ever since. But not tomorrow obviously.
Last time i ever spoke to my old mate from school before he died he died in New Zealand in the Southern Alps
I remember thinking... "Why didn't Higgy take that bleeding penalty"!... A great day, just a shame about the result. Gave some poor goals away that day, lets hope we do it this time.
Flew back in from Dallas especially for the game. Unfortunately this also coincided with my grandfather's funeral who died the day before I arrived. Amazing day out and gave my American girlfriend a true introduction to English football. Remember celebrating like crazy when we scored and was sure that we Hristov would turn it around. Wembley way is the lasting image I have. Turning around and looking back at the sea of red and blue. A great day in a very difficult week.
My overriding memory is on the tube afterwards shared with celebrating Ipswich fans whilst feeling miserable and some young kid holding his Dads hand with one hand and a cell phone in the other excitedly describing the game to his mum. I wanted to hate him but he was so full of joy I just couldnt I just sat there miserable Hoping for not a repeat
Could'nt get in a pub so ar kid bought a six pack from the nearest offy. Saw nervous looking Ipswich fans actually being dragged into a pub for a drink by some of our lot.
Bumped into the bloke who sat behind us in the Ponty and had our picture taken (including some random fat bloke who joined in on the end)
Walking up Wembley way a sea of red and blue but no trouble whatsoever.
Staggering past the coppers trying to look like I hadn't necked the best part of previously mentioned six pack.
THE ATMOSPHERE
It's what footy is all about.

Wembley way the best memory homes of football used to have it as a postcard, game a big disapointment, we were outplayed for most of it, the better team on the day won, awful drive home and the next day might as well never have happened, the start of our troubles really
