Loads of people been asking about pubs- I found this on a Yeovil fan site. Local Pubs : Crock Of Gold: A little further along Bridge Road from Wembley Park station than The Torch (below). Crock Of Gold, 23, Bridge Road, Wembley, London, HA9 9AB. Tel: 020 8908 6933. Eddies Freehouse: Don't know anything, except it's pretty much opposite JJ Moon's and The Bear (see below). Most convenient station is Wembley Central. Eddies Freehouse, 412, High Road, Wembley, London, HA9 6AH. Tel: 020 8795 2263. First Class Sports Bar: Most convenient station is Wembley Park. On exiting the tube station turn right and walk about 200 yards. Pretty much what you'd expect from an average sports bar. The 'First Class' in the name is an exaggeration. Normal Sunday opening is 12.00 noon - 10.30 p.m. No food. First Class Sports Bar, 125, Wembley Park Drive, Wembley, London, HA9 8HG. Tel: 020 8900 0096. J J Moon's: The closest Wetherspoon to Wembley Stadium, about 800 yards away. Opens from 9.00 a.m. to midnight on a Sunday. Most convenient station for this pub is Wembley Central. J J Moon's, 397, High Road, Wembley, London, HA9 7DT. Tel: 020 8903 4923. Mannions: Most convenient station: Wembley Stadium. Irish style bar we believe. Mannions, 313, Harrow Road, Wembley, London, HA9 6BA. Tel: 020 8902 7750. The Bear: Used to be The Old Post Office. Reopened at the start of this month after a refurbishment and name change. Has some real ales, and prices are fairly reasonable for both drink and food. Trying to be a bit of a Wetherspoon clone, but as the real thing is right next door and The Bear isn't as good we can't see much reason to use it in preference to JJ Moon's (above). The most convenient station for this pub is Wembley Central. The Bear, 379A, High Road, Wembley, London, HA9 7DT. The Copper Jug: Possible alternative to The Torch (below). Most convenient station: Wembley Park. May have something in the real ale line. The Copper Jug, 10A, The Broadway, Wembley, London, HA9 8JU. Tel: 020 8357 6629. The Green Man Hotel: Large single room pub with a bar area and restaurant area serving food all day every day. On Sundays there's a roast on offer, adults £6.50, children £4.50. Children welcome up to 9.00 p.m. Opening is normally 12.00 noon - 10.30 p.m. on a Sunday. Has a huge garden - which could be useful with the sort of numbers who'll be milling around Wembley! On draught are: Carling, Carlsberg, Carlsberg Export, Stella, Guinness, Strongbow Cider. The ale is pretty depressing, with Tetley and two guests, but as we think one is Greene King IPA that just leaves the other - until it runs out. Switch and credit cards accepted. Most convenient stations for this pub are Wembley Stadium, then Wembley Central. The Green Man Hotel, Dagmar Avenue, Wembley Hill Road, Wembley, London, HA9 8AF. Tel: 0208 903 1441. The Greyhound: Pretty much straight across the road from Mannions (above). The sort of pub that you find all too often around magnet venues. Doesn't have to try hard to get customers - and so it doesn't bother. Plastic 'glasses', surly doormen, staff who don't give a damn, rip-off prices, rubbish beer. AVOID. Does have Sky. Most convenient station is Wembley Stadium. The Greyhound, 324, Harrow Road, Wembley, London, HA9 6LL. Tel: 0208 9000 819. The Parish: Just along from the First Class Sports Bar (above). The most convenient station is Wembley Park. The Parish, 120, Wembley Park Drive, Wembley, London, HA9 8HP. Tel: 020 8903 8119. The Torch: Carlsberg, Fosters, Kronenbourg, Stella, John Smiths Smooth, Guinness, Guinness Extra Cold, Strongbow Cider. It describes Courage Best as a real ale. We'd beg to differ. Food is Traditional Sunday Lunch, a single course for £5.35. Usual opening is 12.00 noon - 11.00 p.m. We don't know whether this will be extended earlier because of the match. There are two bars, one of which has Sky Sports on two big screens, pool table, darts board and juke box. Childen are allowed if eating, there's a beer garden and the pub is disabled friendly. The most convenient station for this pub is Wembley Park. The Torch, 1 - 5, Bridge Road, Wembley, London, HA9 9AB. Tel: 020 8904 5794. Map: Click Here.
to be honest who cares???????? not about you or your post but about which pub we all end up in. 30000 reds and a few pubs - we'll queue for a bit - get pissed, but will decide on pubs based on the ridiculous queues and where we are
