My mate ordered ours on the 1st day of sale

I'm disabled, he's my "helper". They arrived in the post today to huge relief!

    What are you on?

I'm sure you meant that innocently but maybe you should check some facts before asking such a question

    why is it?

Not all disabled people need helpers, it depends on the disability

Why? It was a question, I know that Another Bubble has a wheelchair but that doesn't necessarily mean he needs a helper so I asked him whether or not he feels he does

    I would have thought that

the fact that he has a helper means that he feels he needs a helper.

I have absolutly no idea what the rules are for disabled fans, that's why I asked him.

I never really thought you meant it anything other than innocently, but it was a surprise all the same knowing the lad.

I was in a wheelchair once, only for 8 weeks and I was completely helpless. Maybe I would have got used to it in time if it had been permanent but for those 8 weeks I needed constant help.

    No offence intended mate.

Not necessarily. He might need a wheelchair yes but not feel that he needs an helper but some rule might state that all wheelchair fans have to be accompanied by a helper (health and safety or something)

Offence? You never said anything that could be taken offensively even by mrx when he wants to cry to site admin :)

I know what you're saying, if I was in a wheelchair i'd most likely need one but at the same time i've seen some pretty independent wheelchair users that (apart from walk obviously) can do everything an able bodied person can and would probably be offended if I suggested they cant.

I seem to remember another bubble posting a few years ago (i think) that his work place hadn't provided him with a means of escape in a fire which made me think he was pretty independent, thats the only reason for asking.

    Blimey!

I turn my back for a minute & it all kicks off!

First of all, no offence taken Super Tyke, a perfectly fair question in my opinion.

Whilst, under normal circumstances, I wouldn't say I need a helper, it's nice to know there's someone there I know I can rely on should I need to.

In answer to Laura, no we didn't receive what we though would be our full allocation. As I reported at the time, the club changed their stance slightly & allowed my helper to get his ticket on his season ticket, allowing me to get my full 3 extra, but he wasn't allowed to get any extras on his meaning that we ultimately had to give backword to 3 people.

I feel less annoyed about it all now because I've found out since that Cardiff & West Brom treat disabled helpers in the same way but the bad feeling could all have been avoided if the club had advertised the fact rather than simply stating that ALL season ticket holders were entitled to 4 tickets each.
