No bought mine on the first morning of sale to ST holders (Monday). Plenty of time, no need to panic.

As above. Although they really shouldn't have said this, "Tickets will be posted out within 3 working days after the booking has been made" if they weren't going to or couldn't manage that.

Yep. But for what they are charging should be delivering them personally or at least by recorded delivery

The tickets are not being posted by the club, they tweeted the other day that Ticketmaster in Manchester are sending them out and they will take 2-3 weeks

JPT tickets seem like a bargain, just taken out a mortgage for Springsteen tickets at Etihad

or you could take a day off work, travel to oakwell, buy a sandwich or pie and a cup of tea in the queue, stand around for 5 hours in the cold , travel home. All considerably more hassle and costly than paying a small admin fee.

(not that i gree with admin fees for the sake of it but in these instances it makes perfect sense)

Better than standing in the car park for hours jn my opinion. Ticketmaster had 50 telesales staff dedicated to us when the tickers went on sale. Club have 4 staff that rotate between club shop AND ticketing. (2 on at any time)

Hats off to them two on ticket duty last time for Wembley they must have been knackered covering the box office and all those open East stand Turnstiles.

Nothing that's been said here justifies a £2.40 PER ticket admin fee. The £2.40 postage should also buy a quicker delivery service.

Just so I've got this straight. What would you expect for £2.40 (or the equivalent of a bit less than a full pint in most Barnsley district pubs)?

As far as I see it the club had potentially a couple of different options:
    (1) Employ 5/10/15 more staff on a temporary basis given the obvious initial clamour (e.g. 10 days or so). Use the entrance gates to sell tickets. Would this have been cash only? How could people choose their seats? I'm guessing that each gate would sell for a different block. Overall less than ideal.
    (2) Use Ticketmaster (some have indicated that this was obligatory, but I can't confirm or deny this fact) but absorb the fees that Ticketmaster would apply, meaning the fan paid the price it says on the ticket. Club loses ~£50k income.

I think overall the option they took was the lesser of all evils. It was just a bit of a balls up for the first day or so. They appear to have resolved many of the issues. The tickets we bought at 8:30 on the Monday are not the tickets we'll taking with us to the match. The block we wanted didn't come on sale until later that first day, but the club allowed us to swap seats 2 days later, is my own example of the club sorting things out. I've read several others.

There are obvious flaws in both

£2.40 doesn't seem much. I bought 26 tickets and the additional booking fees and postage came to £67.20. That seems like a hell of a lot to me for one transaction. Apparently, this money was to pay for extra staff. Even if it is, how much are they on per hour? £67.20 to sell summat to one customer? How many customers can they get through in an hour? But I didn't deal with any people at all. It was an automated website that was designed years before any of these extra staff were brought in. And it didn't work properly, it was slow, frustrating, I didn't get the tickets I wanted and it was impossible to pick child seats next to their parents. 10 days on I still haven't got the tickets despite the information pack stating they would be sent within 3 days of ordering. At £67.20, I don't think I got very good value for money for that service.

    Allocation of 25,000 x 2.40 x £60,000
That's a hell of a lot more than 5/10/15 part time staff

Ticketmaster are lying gally. I called the 'dedicated wembley hotline' number on the club website and I was asked by the Ticketmaster operative what event and venue I wanted to book for when i told them they started trying to sell me seats in the oldham end and it was onky when i requested a certain block number that they asied me which team i supported. They are impossible/bizarre questions to ask on a dedicated line solely for Barnsley fans.
